Pick the homages!

I just watched the second part of Doctor Who: End of Time. I won't give my impressions because I've commented on other journals, but who else was reminded of :
- Stargates
- Starbug (Red Dwarf)
- Luke Skywalker firing the Millennium Falcon's weapons
- The Galactic Senate on Coruscant
- Spock dying
- The Star Wars Cantina scene?

Not just me! This wonderful person does a pictorial summary listing all of those and more, not that I got every one of the references. Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] wolfma for the link. :-D

I think I got all of them bar the "stargates" bit.

Yes to almost all of those. :)

And I saw that summary thing. It was hilarious! There was one for part 1 somewhere, too, as I recall.

I had a look but couldn't find it. Anyway, I think that pretty much covered the things I thought of. :-)

The Master's Sith powers amused me highly:).

Oh yes, Palpatine zapping Luke! I did think of that too.

And your flying puppets, actually. :-P

I was half expecting the Master to shoot lightning out of his bottom, yeah:).

Oh, that was why everyone keeps referring to the bar as a cantina? It's years since I saw Star Wars; I remember the bar, but not its name. The thing I liked best in that scene was that they were playing the song from Daleks in Manhattan, for which I have a sneaking fondness, having managed to edit out most of the silly hybrid stuff to focus on the hilarious paranoid Daleks stuff...

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2010-01-04 10:56 am (UTC)(link)
Now I didn't notice that. I always think of that one as The Pigs Take Manhattan. Not a good one which is probably why I try to forget.

Yep I got all of them.

[identity profile] vandonovan.livejournal.com 2010-01-04 01:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Me me me I thought of every single one PLUS Blake's 7 when the Timelords walk through the hexagonal corridor in the beginning of part two.

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2010-01-04 10:26 pm (UTC)(link)
I didn't pick that one. Score to you!

[identity profile] kalinda001.livejournal.com 2010-01-04 03:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Yup to most of those.

[identity profile] glitterboy1.livejournal.com 2010-01-04 05:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Hee, definitely. Thanks for the link - I'm not sure I'd seen all of those! I rather liked that aspect of it, and that was what set me off with the various references in my post. It seemed like there was a lot of just plain having fun.

Yep love the refs though part of the rescue looks more like a Carry On film, Carry On Doctor to be exact.
(Not that I'm saying Jim Dale looks anything like Tennant but the suits were similar. :¬D)
