B7 guest star on Sarah Jane

I'm loving the Sarah Jane Adventures, and just watched part one of this season's second story tonight. (And very intriguing it is.)

I was staring at the "madwoman" trying to work out why her face was so tantalisingly familiar--and it was Souad Faress who played Selma in Horizon on B7. No wonder I sort of recognised her: she has a very distinctive face, but it is 30 years on. Go, her! :-)

That's interesting. I always thought that she made a good fist of a not very exciting role in Horizon.

Oh!! I totally see her as Selma now! I thought it had to actually be Rani's actress in make up because she looked familiar, but yes, it's totally Selma's actress. GOOD EYE!

I do love the SJA. Far more than is remotely reasonable for a kid's show, but I do love it. ♥

I also love that this post wasn't about the obvious guest start on the SJA. XDDD

Who was the obvious guest star? I've been told that the caretaker was Lis Sladen's husband Brian Miller.

I guessed it was Souad quite soon - but I have the advantage of hearing her voice very often, as she now plays Usha Gupta (http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/archers/whos_who/characters/usha_gupta.shtml) in The Archers. She's a very good facial match for Anjili Mohindra.

I meant the guest star revealed in the preview for the next episode.

I was going to post about that too and decided not to. :-)

Oh! That's why she was familiar! I was trying to figure out if it was actually the woman who plays Rani's mother, or what, because I knew I knew her voice. But it was impossible too tell under that much makeup.

Greg thought it was the mother, but I knew those eyes and nose from somewhere, and they weren't hers. :-)

Apparently Lis Sladen's husband played the caretaker (see comment above}.
