Pick five of your favourite shows, in no particular order, before you read the questions below, then answer them!
I picked a couple of all-time favourites, and some current series I'm enjoying.
1. Burn Notice
2. Blake's 7
3. Farscape
4. Psych
5. Lost
01. Who's your favourite character in 2?
Ahahaha, bad move making Blake's 7 #2. Any fule kno that, chiz chiz. I'm not sure why he is though, because I mainly go for aliens, androids, and anoraks.
02. Who's your least favourite character in 1?
Of the three main characters in Burn Notice? Fiona, I suppose. Now I should adore Fiona because her character totally rocks--weapons, explosives, tough attitude--but she just doesn't match the role: skinny, chews on celery and eats egg-white omelets, wears flimsy revealing clothes that would rip in a fight, and her collagen-injected lips bother me; the upper one shouldn't be that big. She does good accents though (at least her US one sounds good to me).
03. What's your favourite episode of 4?
Again hard to say; I watch Psych for the humour rather than the plots. OK, the dinosaur one, because it was so funny that Shawn picked that the bite marks on the corpse were from a tyrannosaurus rex because he once got himself banned from the museum for getting into the mouth of one for a photo.
04. What's your favourite season of 5?
Um, season 3 of Lost was pretty good, introducing lots more fun mysteries. But really, it's been good since then too, even though--or because--I have no idea where they're going. I'm glad they do.
05. What is your favourite ship in 3?
Moya of course!
06. What is your antiship in 2?
That ugly flagship of Servalan's.
07. How long have you watched 1?
I started watching Burn Notice last year, joining Greg in season 2. I'm up to date in the current season, but we've gone back to watch/rewatch season 1 in the last month or so. And I'm impressed that it started in as strongly as it did; I expected it to take some time to get going.
08. How did you become interested in 3?
Farscape was SF! And in space! And it had people who speak like me! It was on TV here and though it was slow to get going, unlike Burn Notice, I was hooked by the end of season 1. Then the bastards took it off the air so I had to use other means. We now own the DVDs.
09. Who's your favourite actor/actress in 4?
Psych? Ooh, draw between James Roday and Dulé Hill. As someone once said about Avon and Vila, they need each other. I like the outtakes they have at the end of each ep where they often improvise a song together. They obviously love what they're doing.
10. Which do you prefer: Show 1, 2 or 5?
I can't say! I'm hopeless at favourites anyway, but it really is apples, oranges, and bananas. Burn Notice is light spy entertainment, Blake's 7 is dystopian SF, and Lost, well Lost is the banana in that lot: strange tangled timey-wimey mystery. I like them all for completely different reasons.
11. Which show have you seen more episodes of, 1 or 3?
I've seen 32 eps of Burn Notice, and all 88 of Farscape plus the two in Peacekeeper Wars ones, making it 90. Farscape wins by a Moya-length!
12. If you could be anyone from 4, who would you be?
Anyone from Psych? Gus! He gets to have fun when he's not working (and when does he?), he had a fairly happy home life as a kid, and shows a reasonable level of fear when faced with guns in his face and weird, as yet unexplained phenomena.
13. How would you kill off your favourite character in 1?
I can't imagine how to kill off Michael, but Sam from Burn Notice would die in action in bed with his latest, uh, employer?
14. Give a random quote from 1?
Michael: Fi, get me a sniper rifle and some C4.
Fiona: Oh, I like where this is going.
15. Which character from 5 would be a good guest star on 2?
Hurley from Lost on Blake's 7! Because it would be so much fun.
Two figures appeared outlined in light and looked around. "Nicer than most places the teleport lands me in," said one.
Hurley stopped chewing. "Teleport? Dude. This has to be the biggest timeshift yet."
"Oh, good," said the one in black leather. "A native. And he seems as coherent as you, Vila."
Hurley grinned. "Welcome to Fahntasy Island!" He held out his hand.
Avon drew back. "What is that substance?"
"Dharma ranch dressing." Hurley licked his fingers. "Dude, that stuff has no best-before date. It'll still be good in your time, whenever this is."
16. Would a 3/4 crossover work?
Farscape and Psych? Crichton could make a short stopover in Santa Barbara while he's on Earth. He and Shawn and Gus would get on so well, with all their pop culture references, and Shawn would encounter some weird stuff he couldn't explain away.
17. Pair 2 characters in 1 that would make an unlikely but strangely okay couple.
There aren't that many regulars in Burn Notice, but OK, Sam and Michael's mother. She needs to get out more and she'd be happy to sit there smoking at Sam's favourite bar while he has his Cuban fast food and mojitos.
Or do you mean pair two characters from 2 and put them in 1? I think Avon and Dayna from Blake's 7 would do well in Miami; they have the requisite paranoia and skills with explosives.
18. Has 5 inspired you in any way?
Lost? Not really, other than to confirm that ranch dressing is not part of a good diet and make me slightly more nervous about flying. Not inspired, no.
19. Overall, which show has a better cast, 2 or 4?
I'll go with Blake's 7 despite the "declaiming from a stage" style and the extreme hamminess of a certain member because Psych doesn't really give the cast a big range of emotions to work with.
20. Which has better theme music, 3 or 5?
Farscape over Lost by far: it's haunting and memorable and I sing along with it.

I like the way Fiona is written, and Anwar does some great "shooting things is fun!" faces that do really sell the character for me. But, man, she's so skinny that she's kind of painful to look at. I keep faintly, uncomfortably wondering whether the actress might be anorexic or something.
Ooh, draw between James Roday and Dulé Hill. As someone once said about Avon and Vila, they need each other.
Yeah, and the greatest appeal in Psych really is in the buddy interaction. Neither of their characters would work on his own.
Hurley from Lost on Blake's 7! Because it would be so much fun.
I think anything is automatically bound to be more fun with added Hurley. And, I love your tiny spontaneous ficlet! I think it should be a full story. ;)
Farscape and Psych?
Crichton and Shawn together? I think the world would explode from a critical mass of smartassness and pop culture references. :)
but OK, Sam and Michael's mother
OK, as a pairing that disturbs me, but it would be immense fun to see them hanging out together. :)

*snerk!*
and I sing along with it.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who sometimes does that. :)

I do too. In one of the "Get Burned" commentaries, someone says something abut Fiona only being 100lbs, and Anwar says indignantly "90!" Also, I wondered if the celery and the egg-white omelets were her input; they do seem to ad-lib, like when Michael and Fiona called themselves Cagney and Lacey, and they left that bit in. I like that Michael's love of yogurt has been there from the beginning.
OK, as a pairing that disturbs me, but it would be immense fun to see them hanging out together. :)
Hey, if she keeps him and lends him a car, and he's as good in bed as he seems to be, it could work! Anyway, I think they'd enjoy just hanging out and chatting.

Yeesh.

I love the yogurt. There's something weirdly adorable about a love of yogurt as a defining personality quirk. :)
Hey, if she keeps him and lends him a car, and he's as good in bed as he seems to be, it could work!
He must be damned good at something, it's true. But she already gave Michael the car. And I'm just imagining Micheal's reaction, and it's not pretty. Hilarious, but not pretty. :)

*follows suit* (I bet Sam would be all for pizza and margaritas. :))

Madeline is a puzzle. Her husband sounds like an abusive creep, at least to young Michael, but she remembers him with affection and doesn't seem like the submissive victim type.
I'm just imagining Micheal's reaction, and it's not pretty.
Oh yeah, like the horrified look on his face when Virgil had a "sleepover". :-D

I kind of like Barry the money launderer. He's amusing. But, um, yeah. Ick. :)

People can be strange and complicated like that. I definitely get the impression that she practiced a lot of denial about how bad it was, and is still trying hard to remember things as being better than they were.
Oh yeah, like the horrified look on his face when Virgil had a "sleepover". :-D
Exactly. And given that the guy is cool as a cucumber when you put a gun to his head, seeing looks like that on his face has even more of an effect. :)
(I might need a Burn Notice icon if we're going to keep talking about it! I'll use my other secret agent, instead. :))

What would you think of Vila guest starring on Burn Notice with Sam?
