Day 4 - Vase

Once again I didn't leave myself much time for [livejournal.com profile] naarmamo, so I had a go at a vase I bought a few years ago, attracted by its Art Deco look. It's black and cream, painted in black and metallic gold paint--and in much finer and less wobbly lines than mine!

Art Deco-style vase

My NaArMaMo 2009 Gallery is here.

Oooh...nice lines and colors.

Thanks! It's a lovely thing in RL.

Reproducing the lines on a curved surface is though, but you've done that very well. Lovely subtle use of shade to indicate the roundness of the pot too.

I agree, the real thing must be lovely.

Thank you!

I couldn't resist it when I saw it. It sits beside an elongated Art Deco lady I draw last year, and a stylised terracotta cat which is absurdly out of scale with the lady.

Beautiful - I now covet the real bowl :)

I never regretted that impulse buy!

I wasn't sure whether to call it a vase or a bowl. It's bowl-shaped, but the opening is so small and vase-like.

Oh, that's lovely. Your shading is subtly, and very effective at evoking form.

Thanks! I wanted the shading to be as simple as the lines.
