Sodding Microsoft
Greg had a spare mouse in his car, and also swapped his one in--no luck. It has to be the Microbloodysoft update that went through last night. He's going to bring home a spare PS2 mouse from work which is sort of hopeful as they don't need drivers. If that works, I'll buy one in the weekend. In the meantime, using the graphic pen works, but painfully. Right clicking is a right pain and there's no scrolling. :-(

Some years ago they produced am update for the driver for my sound chip, which I duly applied (it wasn't an automatically installed one) only to find myself without any sound at all! Fortunately I was able to reinstall the old driver.

I know on our office computer we have a back up drive and after a Firefox update scrambled our e-mails we simply went into the back up and restored the files to their pre-update condition. I have something similar on my laptop. May not do you much good but a back up drive might save you a bit of hassle in the future. :)
