Some good news!

The cat at the salon found his home! I looked on the "Pets on the Net" lost and found site and there he was: missing from that very street, a much loved Tonkinese called Rocco. Even though it was late, I rang the owner, and she said the person who found him had rung not long before and was coming round with him, probably in our carrier. :-)

So yay for good news!

As for Claudia, we've taken her heated bed with her in it up to our bedroom so she's close to us. I don't think she'll be jumping on the bed tonight like she did last night, but you never know.

So glad you found the cat's family. They must have been getting quite worried :-/

Thoughts are with you on Claudia *hugs* Hope you can get a little food in her soon or that she goes quickly without pain :-(

I'm very pleased for Rocco and his family!

And I hope you can nurse Claudia towards a comfortable end, in the company of her own family.

That's great news for Rocco.

Oh, I'm glad he found his way home. Hope Claudia has a good night. We agonised about when to call it a day with Lotus, because she was such a tough little survivor, but in the end we knew, as I think she did; she just sort of turned inward and stopped obviously enjoying things. But until that day even, she'd still enjoyed the garden, and sitting on laps. (She had a tumour and had survived some months on steroids but then got a cold, which kinda finished it).

Claudia spent most of last night cuddled up to me in bed. She managed, amazingly, to get onto the bed, and stayed with me till she woke up enough in the morning to want to drink a little. The rest of time she's mainly been borrowed into her bed.

That's how it was for her: still enjoying the garden at the weekend, up on the railing with the cubs, coming to sit on our laps, and greeting visitors. It's been a sudden deterioration, but not an unexpected one.

It is always sooooo good to hear about happy endings.
You are so good and loving with Claudia, she definitely feels you love her and she will be with you and happy till the end.

I'm so glad Rocco found his family.

My thoughts are with you and Greg and Claudia.

She'll appreciate that, I'm sure. Hugs to you both.

I was thinking it was a while since we'd heard from you, and was wondering how Claudia was. I'm sorry to hear that she's getting worse.

I wish I could have been with Skiffle, but she was already under anaesthetic to have a bad tooth removed when the vet confirmed that the lump was a tumour, not an abcess. I could have asked them just to remove the tooth, then brought her home for another couple of months, but she'd developed bladder problems a couple of days earlier, and there was no guarantee that she would be comfortable in her last days. So I gave permission over the phone there and then for her to be put to sleep.
I'm sorry I wasn't with her when she went to sleep for the last time, but it didn't seem fair to hang on to her, with maybe pills and more trips back and forth to the vet, just for another few weeks.

'When' is a tough decision to make but I think you'll know.

*hugs*

I think I do too. We're taking her in tomorrow, and though they said they can hydrate her and make her more comfortable, I think it's time.

I don't want to prolong her life they way it is now, but I wouldn't have said that in the weekend when she was still enjoying life, sitting on the railing outside in the sun. I doubt she'd even make it outside now.

I'm glad I have the cubs to distract and delight me in the days to come. I bet you're looking forward so much to your new little Iella. :-)
