Farewell, SGA

Ah, SGA, I shall miss you.

But that was a great way to go.

"The enormity of empty space" though? Oh, Rodney, how could you?

I was... somewhat worried there at one point, but yay!

And I have to say that I LOVE FLYING CITIES! Yes, James Blish, you have a lot to answer for.

That last scene? Yeah, I knew it would be that. Was it a Star Trek homage by any chance? Probably not but I'd like to think so.

I look forward to the films they've promised.

It wasn't a bad ending. I rather enjoyed it, though the series was never the same for me after what happened to Elizabeth. Flying cities for the win! Worried a bit that they were really going to snuff Ronan, but they brought him back AND it was plausible.

I'm with you, I want to believe that it's a homage to Star Trek. So let's stick with that shall we? I mean it smacks of Star Trek IV. Both the end of The Voyage Home and the fact Kirk's Bird of Prey was cloaked in San Francisco.

The one thing that bothered me and I'll admit for most it's a minor point. Where the heck is Torren? Did Teyla leave him back in the Pegasus galaxy with Kannan aka Mr. Plot Device or is he somewhere in the city? It makes me feel better to think that even though it was dangerous she brought him with her. I think Teyla is a better mother than the writers make her out to be. Okay do I get to involved in this show...uh maybe. LOL

I thought we saw in an earlier episode that the three of them have quarters in the city, so I figured they made the journey to Earth, too.

I look forward to the films they've promised.

I thought those were just SG-1 films, not Atlantis too. But I don't know.

Yes, Teyla has quarters in the city, but I get the impression Kannan lives on the mainland. That's where he was when Michael invaded Atlantis. Could be wrong.

They've promised at least one Atlantis film according to Gateworld and Stargate wiki. Let's hope they follow through. Stargate Universe is slated to start this fall as well.

Stargate Universe looks very interesting (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stargate_Universe), and I'm delighted we'll still have an SF series, though why do the women have to be stunningly beautiful? [rolls eyes] Also, I wish them very good luck with "exploring the truly alien, and avoiding the rubber faced English-speaking one". SG1 did well with the Unas, so it can be done (though all those English-speaking medieval cultures got to me). I'm also pleased that we won't have a dominant villain race; in fact it sounds almost Star Trekish.

I was devastated, and so relieved he was brought back.

It does feel like homage, and SG1 has certainly referred to Star Trek and other SF before, :-)

I wondered about the baby too. There wasn't time to offload him, so he must have been on Atlantis. Perhaps this is normal for the warrior people Teyla comes from: to die or survive with one's family. In her culture death from culling is ever present so she never considered leaving him somewhere else. Mr Plot Device is right! There was never a real connection there, and we've hardly seen the guy. I wish they've made Ronon the father; it would have made more sense than some random guy off-screen.

Hmm, now I have more slots, I should get some more SG icons, but I'm also worried about filling them up too fast. I made Vala and Sheppard ones a while back for challenges, and I'd like to have a Ronon or Teyla, but OTOH I don't often post about SG.

OMG I would have died of glee if they'd made Ronan the father. Do you know how much of a bad ass that child would be? LOL Seriously, I could totally see Teyla/Ronan. I take comfort in the fact that Athosian's do things differently than humans. Maybe Teyla had some sort of contract with Kannan that he would father a child when she decided she was ready for motherhood. However, I agree Ronan would've been a better choice.

Also, you have a point that she may have thought it perfectly natural to bring baby along for the ride. I'd like to think he ended up on Earth with mommy instead of alone in the Pegasus galaxy.

You know what I want...Todd icons! Yes, I understand he is a Wraith and a bad guy but I LOVE Todd! I've got to do some heavy searching and see what I can find. I'd love one of the scene where he's laughing. "You know how to talk to me John Sheppard." OH Todd...lol yes I know I'm weird. lol

Ronon would have been so much better than some stranger! I'm sure the baby's with her. [grins at your icon]

I love Todd too--and his sense of humour. I thought his fate was annoyingly unresolved at the end. I thought the Atlantis crew treated Michael abominably, so I'm glad they were able to forge a fairly good relationship with another Wraith.
