Stuff I bought today
I went to spend the second $50 voucher I got as a leaving gift last year, and bought two more Doctor Who serials: The Invasion of Time as it's Four, the plot looks interesting, and there's a Sontaran (I like spud-heads); and Black Orchid because it has Five, I haven't seen him since I was young and innocent and he was on telly here, plus it's set in 1925, and there's a train and a cricket match.
Other purchases include a new flash drive, and some calendars that were half-price: another Star Trek:TOS one, a Futurama one of movie poster parodies, an Art Deco building one (no idea where that's going, but I couldn't resist), and a small one of beautiful space pictures for near my computer. And four gel pens just because.
I really should scan in last year's Star Trek:TOS and Simpsons calendars, and maybe these too, because the pictures would be good icon material, plus I could do a quiz on the Simmos one.

I had a Star Trek TOS calendar last year, and my little miss went through and cut out all the heads, and scattered them everywhere ... I would be cleaning up and find a little Spock head!

I have ordered me some new books from Amazon... this is despite the fact that I got about 7 for Christmas...

The ones I've ordered are a guide to writing the Old West (because I need help with M7, and it looked fun); Swindled, a history of food adulteration that I heard about on the radio and have coveted ever since, and a new copy of the history classic Montaillou 'cause my 20-year-old one is falling apart :)

edit: just looked at your lj and realised your reference to M7 means the Magnificent 7, so I guess that answers my question.

I'm not fond of the Sontarans, but it has Leela in it, which makes it OK in my book. :)
another Star Trek:TOS one
I just ordered one of those!

The calendar we have has Spock, Kirk, and Scotty on the front, with a background of red Space Hexagons. Going by the format, it must be made by the same people as last year's, and indeed it is: Andrews McMeel Publishing. The Simmos and Futurama ones are from Hallmark, the Art Deco (and Gothic Revival) one is French and is of vintage postcards of buildings from 1885 to 1939, and the space one is views from the Hubble telescope. A great haul. :-D
