HOW MANY ICONS DO YOU HAVE: 158
OUT OF HOW MANY AVAILABLE ICONS SPACES: 195
IF YOU COULD BUY SPACE FOR MORE, WOULD YOU: No; it's hard enough keeping track of these!
DO YOUR ICONS MAKE A STATEMENT: Much the same one as my user name
WHAT FANDOM DO YOU HAVE THE MOST ICONS OF: Blake's 7
AND THE SECOND MOST: Doctor Who, mainly because of [livejournal.com profile] rescharlach's wonderful mini characters
WHAT SHIP DO YOU HAVE THE MOST ICONS OF: I don't really. The Liberator?
ARE YOUR ICONS MADE MOSTLY BY OTHER PEOPLE: No
DO YOU MAKE ICONS: Yes
ARE THEY ANY GOOD: I like them!
ANIMATED ICONS ARE: Sometimes very clever and cool, sometimes (when frenetic) bloody annoying

I'd love to see others answer this. You could always just post the icons without the fancy table. :-)

[Edit] Or you could use this excellent icon table generator which is very easy to enter icon URLs into; choose one of the last two options if you want to preserve the three columns. It automatically numbers the icons 001, 002 etc, but it would be easy to find and edit the numbers to the header text needed.

And that's what I've now done, to test it. :-) It was easier than editing the copied HTML. :-)

Or easiest of all, get the code here!

I don't want to be the only one without the fancy table, though! And I don't know how to make one. :)

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2009-01-03 06:14 am (UTC)(link)
I cheated: I copied the HTML and then edited it. :-)

[identity profile] astrogirl2.livejournal.com 2009-01-03 06:19 am (UTC)(link)
How the heck do you do that?

Oh... *looks at page source*

OK, that looks annoying to edit, but maybe when I'm feeling bored. :)

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2009-01-03 06:51 am (UTC)(link)
Yep, that's how you do it, and it was a bit fiddly.

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2009-01-03 06:53 am (UTC)(link)
Another way, if you have Semagic, is to copy the table into it and edit it there.

[identity profile] astrogirl2.livejournal.com 2009-01-03 06:58 am (UTC)(link)
Nah, I've never bothered with that.

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2009-01-03 07:09 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I only ever use it for complex memes. I just code the stuff myself otherwise.

Here's another idea! There's a very nice icon table generator (http://lj.indisguise.org/icontablegenerator.php#generator) I have bookmarked for if I ever offer a lot of icons, which is dead easy to enter icon URLs into. It automatically numbers the icons 001, 002 etc, but it would be very easy to find and edit the numbers to the text you want. :-)

[identity profile] astrogirl2.livejournal.com 2009-01-03 07:11 am (UTC)(link)
That looks like a nice tool! But editing the HTML is probably simplest. I just don't feel like it right at the moment. In fact, what I feel like at the moment is sleep. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz..... :)

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2009-01-03 07:18 am (UTC)(link)
Fair enough! Good night. :-)

I just generated a table with that generator, and I'll definitely use it when I get round to making up some icons from my NaArMoMo artwork. It works very well, and they have a few formatting options too. :-)

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2009-01-03 07:35 am (UTC)(link)
And I just redid mine in the generator, which I thought was easier than editing the HTML. :-)

I have to admit most of my answers haven't changed from last time except for the 'newest' (which is this one :)

Or they're questions I don't have an answer to, like 'favourite'.

But it's fun looking at other people's.

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2009-01-03 06:55 am (UTC)(link)
"Favourite" is always hard for me to answer. Favourite for aesthetics, most useful, sentimental value, what? I've hardly used the one I chose, but I do like it.

[identity profile] snowgrouse.livejournal.com 2009-01-03 07:02 am (UTC)(link)
I now feel like I should've given Hello Vila ears! Poor thing.

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2009-01-03 07:09 am (UTC)(link)
I never noticed! His massive sideburns hide them. :-) [hugs Hello Vila]

Some of those were really difficult to answer and if I did this tomorrow a few of them would probably change. :)

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2009-01-03 08:14 am (UTC)(link)
I found them difficult to answer too, and had to stab at a few. :-) I'd like to see your answers though.

[identity profile] quarryquest.livejournal.com 2009-01-03 02:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Hee! That is Orac in 'Orac' and our heroes are in Rickmansworth Quarry. Why can I tell you that? Note the wall of chalk behind them!

[identity profile] sorsha-khan.livejournal.com 2009-01-03 09:39 am (UTC)(link)
Bah, I'm still on a free account & so only have 15 icons - which means I'd have to reuse them to answer all the questions.
I really oughta upgrade.

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2009-01-03 10:04 am (UTC)(link)
Well, I used one twice! But yes, it wouldn't be easy, though you could leave table spaces blank if you didn't have, say, an angriest or saddest one.

[identity profile] reapermum.livejournal.com 2009-01-03 04:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Not only do I only have 15 icon spaces, but I only use nine of them. So I'm in a worse position than you.

[identity profile] sorsha-khan.livejournal.com 2009-01-03 05:02 pm (UTC)(link)
:-O Mind you, your default pic is so great I really should be so sympathetic ;-)

[identity profile] reapermum.livejournal.com 2009-01-03 05:18 pm (UTC)(link)
[livejournal.com profile] sallymn made it. It's my surname.

[identity profile] thetisonline.livejournal.com 2009-01-03 10:13 am (UTC)(link)
I've always loved your "Pull to Open" Vila!

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2009-01-03 10:16 am (UTC)(link)
It's by the talented [livejournal.com profile] snowgrouse, who has made several of mine. :-) This one's one of mine though. -)

[identity profile] thetisonline.livejournal.com 2009-01-03 12:46 pm (UTC)(link)
I like it to ... is that one of Michael's PR shots?

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2009-01-03 07:53 pm (UTC)(link)
It is him rather than Vila, but he's so gorgeous, I couldn't resist.

[identity profile] hafren.livejournal.com 2009-01-03 12:36 pm (UTC)(link)
I was hoping that would be something I could figure out, but it lost me at "enter icon urls". If that's the LJ page they live on, aren't they all the same URL?

[identity profile] thetisonline.livejournal.com 2009-01-03 12:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Right click on the icon, and look at "Properties" ... that has the url. Hope that helps.

[identity profile] hafren.livejournal.com 2009-01-03 06:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah! Thanks....

[identity profile] entropy-house.livejournal.com 2009-01-03 03:48 pm (UTC)(link)
All images must be hosted on their own webspace- when they're on a page it uses each image's URL to include it in the coding.

Which is why sometimes an image that *was* on a page disappears even though the coding remains. If the original is deleted, then it's gone from every page that referred to it.

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2009-01-03 07:52 pm (UTC)(link)
No; each icon has its own so it can be used on other pages, like this one.

However, just posting the headers and the icons would be absolutely fine.
