The return of the icon meme
I don't have much to say (other than that I just bought some yarn to knit a teleport bracelet) and
astrogirl2 revived the icon meme.
Meme instructions:
1. Reply to this post asking to participate, and I will pick five of your icons.
2. Make a post (including the meme info) and talk about the icons I chose.
3. Other people can then comment to you and make their own posts.
4. This will create a never-ending cycle of icon glee.
The icons
astrogirl2 wanted to know about
This is one of the two white tigercubs I played with and fed a few years ago for one of the best birthday presents ever. This is the little boy (now called Tama and living in South Africa on an exchange program) with his own plush tiger cub which he's chewing the hell out of. :-)
You can find the full picture here, and the whole gallery here. Used for general animal cuteness.
This is Vila in the season 3 episode City at the Edge of the World calling for teleport just before Bayban the Butcher blows the whole place up. I used the text in a story or an RPG--I can't remember which--and as it amused people, I went looking for a suitable picture to attach it to. I use it for when I'm confused or have stuffed up somehow.
Me in my leather pilot's helmet. I bought it at the Aotea Market (now sadly gone) and it's of the most beautiful soft leather lined with fleece. I posted a picture, and
kalypso_v said I looked like Jayne, so I made it into an icon. I now actually have a knitted Jayne hat (two to be exact) so I really should change it. It's the only remotely Firefly icon I have, so I used it for that, or when I'm being especially dorky.
I drew this based on my memory of a colourful key-ring I sent to
entropy_house. It's Auckland in summer: the island is the volcanic cone Rangitoto in the Gulf, the flowers are pohutukawas, and the palm is a nikau palm. That's pronounced 'nee-koh' so is fairly close to my own name. Oh and the little white things are yachts because Auckland is known as 'the city of sails'. I use it for NZ-y posts.
This is a stained glass Magen David, or Star of David. I can't remember where I got the image from, but it's probably in some shul somewhere.

Did you want me to ask you about some icons too?

Um, did you also want me to ask you about icons? :-)

I've ended up inadvertently participating in memes before, though, because of confusion between "leave a comment asking to participate" and "leave a comment." People really ought to make a point of wording these things more clearly. :)

OK, I know or can figure most of them out, but I'll ask you about these:
You can reply here. :-)

OK, I'll answer these tomorrow! (I'll probably do it on my LJ, anyway. I only promised I was done posting for today. :))
