Catch-up
I haven't posted for a few days, so I thought I'd better.
I'm still working on the post-election official count, now special votes, and tomorrow is the last day. Then I'll have to ring the agencies again to try to get a contract. Now we have the Rich Bastard's Party National back in power, perhaps business confidence will go up and they'll start employing again. It would be nice to have a silver lining.
It was our anniversary yesterday so we went out for Thai, and very nice too. Lucky we'd got over Saturday's hangover. :-P
And in kitten news: Jasmin and Vic are now playing, which is a relief as I was a bit worried that if something happens to Claudia (who does have kidney disease) we'd have to get another cat as company for her. This is great though because the girls always shut Vic out and at last he'll have a playmate too. I have yet to see them cuddle, but I've found Jasmin and Claudia snuggled together a few times. :-) She's settling in very well, and follows me around like Tessa used to. We haven't let her out yet though as she doesn't yet come consistently when called.

I am glad that Jasmin and Vic are playing, it's good she's settled in now.

And I should go to bed. I have to be up early tomorrow. :-P

But yes, Vic was always very much on the outer because the girls were adults and already close friends. Claudia will never really like him, though she tolerates him.

It sounds like Jasmin has definitely integrated well.
We never let ours out unless they came to call - or came charging up at the rattle of the dried food.
Hope you have good luck on the job search.

Thanks! I must ring the agencies again now I'm available.

Peri is not very good at coming to call when she is outside so we let her out on a harness and an extendible dog lead which allows her the run of the entire garden.
Harness training is relatively simple if you get the small dog variety harness with the two hoops and quick release catches. For some reason cat harnesses are easier to wriggle out of than dog harnesses! Make sure fitting is snug but not too tight.

And good to know that Jasmin is settling in with the others.

I'm pleased with how well Jasmin's settled in, and that Vic might have a friend now.

Awww. Poor Vic. I hope he finds joy in Jasmine's company.

I'm glad that Vic is accepting Jasmin - that's good for both of them. I hope it won't be too long before you can let Jasmin out - it must be worrying to have to keep an eye on her, sometimes.

I think we'll give her a supervised outing this weekend. At least she chases anything dragged, so we'll be able to capture her. That was our trick with Tessa when she wouldn't come in, but she learned the subterfuge very quickly. Jasmin hasn't yet.
