Geekness

First of all, today is, besides being Armistice Day, my journal's birthday. It's five years old, and those have been five great years with you lovely people. This is the perfect community for introverts like me. :-)

Secondly, behold: The Darth Vader Toaster. BSG is more your thing and you'd like a Cylon toaster? It's probably sold out, but hey, you could get the real thing. ;-)

And now for your pleasure, I present Jasmin the Geeky Kitten.

Cyclotron and sonic screwdriver

Jasmin plays with her cyclotron. There's only one large yellow hadron in it, so there's no danger of collisions. There's also a stupid mouse on a spring, but she's not interested in that. She wants to see that particle accelerate.

I left my sonic screwdriver pen on a glass table (I'm using it to mark off rows on my Doctor Who scarf pattern) and found Jasmin trying to get it from underneath.

She was pretty determined, too. :-) Any strange marks on her are reflections.

Jasmin the Geeky Kitty! I love it. She looks so soft and fuzzy and very determined indeed.

She is both of those things, and a little geek. She is now on my computer desk checking everything out. :-)

Heh, the first sonic screwdriver image, if you didn't know that there was a glass table there, it looks like she just tossed it into the air. Definitely a LOLcat waiting to happen.

I know! It's like this Claudia icon, but I had the Liberator on cotton.

Now, I've been looking for a new toaster and I think the Vader one would be just the thing. :)

Jasmin is a delight; I thought at first that you had photoshopped the image of the sonic screwdriver onto a photo of Jasmin. Great photos!

Ahahaha, if I'd photoshopped it, I hope the images would have been sharper. :-) I do think the Doctor should have a cat companion.

Those are great photos - she looks so puzzled in the second one, and so intent in the first and third. And how perfect that such a geeky little kitty has found a home with you :)

I rather fancy the Darth Vader one, but they'd have to be available here for me to bother; you guys only run at half the voltage we do.

It was so cute! She knows what glass is because she walks around on it, but from underneath I suppose she couldn't see the reflections and though the screwdriver was floating. :-)

I see kitty loves her toys. :-p

She's a very determined little kitten.

The only way I can be on-line with her in the room (as now) is by hanging a stuffed fish on a bungee from a knob on my chair so she'll play with that and not either climb all over my desk and keyboard, or knock things over. :-P I'm sure you know what that's like, and you have two of them!

Did you see this toaster? It hooks up to the computer and will toast any image or text. It's not in production yet (and may never be) but I think that would be the coolest ever- you could get very creative.

Jasmin is wonderful!

I did once run across a comic in a multimedia zine where the doctor had a cat he named Harry because it was clumsy and always knocking things over.

I did see that while I was looking at toasters. I don't want news on my toast though. It would give me indigestion.

Jasmin does that too, esp my little Romans and Asterix figures.

If I was paying $8,0000 I'd want the real thing with working blasters (grin).
Jasmin is a delight and as she knows what glass is evidently she was enjoying playing with it even though she knows that she can't get through the glass. Our cats do a lot of that with the gerbil.
At the moment I'm surrounded by cats as I'm on my laptop trying to get enough energy together to get dressed for work. It's hard to move with a purring cat on top of you.

Jasmin is playing under my chair right now with a dangly toy I put there.

Lovely photos, but the second one is particularly fab. It looks as though she's on a chair, making the sonic screwdriver float above her in a conjouring trick.

She does! I had to include that one even though I hadn't moved the tissues out of camera range.

And it's just as well Jasmin didn't get her paws on the sonic screwdriver. Can you imagine how dangerous such technology could be in the hands of cats? :)

But it passes very slowly when you're marking voters off the master roll, :-P

Cats can already teleport and read minds. They don't really need sonic screwdrivers. :-)

She is! But I think she's the most manically active kitten I've ever had. Poor Claudia is an unwilling plaything though they do cuddle up together now in Jasmin's few quiet times.

She does look serious, especially when she's concentrating. She can look very happy and peaceful too, but that changes as soon as I get the camera out; any movement from me means PLAY!

wow, she looks so intent! 'I must get to the screwdriver!' Adorable kitty. How long did she try and get at it for? Did she eventually jump on the table?

I played with her for a while with the screwdriver, and she did get--and still does get--on the table to bat things off. I love how it looks as if she's tossing it in the air.

The cyclotron has lost the stupid mouse-on-a-spring and the cats still love it. Jasmin was only the size of the cyclotron then; she's about twice the size now! :-)
