Two cat stories

Two cat stories which amused me. The first one's especially for [livejournal.com profile] trixieleitz.

Single White Cat Seeks Red Chick: a cat and a bantam who are friends. Click on the newspaper link at the bottom for more pictures and story; it's worth it.

Tama the Feline Stationmaster: a cat that turned a Japanese railway station's finances around.

The story of the chicken and the cat is so amazing. The story about the stationmaster cat is so Japanese!

Cool.

It is, with people going there to take photos of her, and feeling lucky if she puts her paws together and shows her heart markings. She's very cute, but I feel a bit sorry for her having to wear the hat and often a cape. I'm sure she could escape if she wanted to though.

You're right ... she could go if she wanted to. Cats can move pretty fast! The regular food probably helps, being an ex-stray.

That Japanese tortie and white is a very patient cat ! She's got a good home, but she has to put up with a lot of human nonsense.

She does, but she seems happy despite having to wear a hat, poor thing. I'm sure she could escape if she really wanted to. However I've met cats who live in hotels and liked being petted by every stranger who passed. I'm sure some of the attraction of Tama is that people just don't have pets over there.

Awww!

I thought you'd like that one. They were friends from when the bantam was a tiny chicken.

Aw the chicken and the cat are so adorable. And the station master cat complete with cap, cute.

It's amazing that the cat became so protective. I suppose Tama's used to the cap, but my cats wouldn't wear it (in either sense).

Delightful!

I would visit that station!

Apparently about extra 55,000 people a year do!

I like your tiger cub icon!

lovely stories :0)

I hope they cheered you up! :-)

Ha, love the cat and bantam story. The Japanese stationmaster cat thing was all over the place a few months ago, and my dad (who used to work as a train conductor in his younger days) loved it.

And hey, some cats *like* wearing weird stuff. Hope Tama is one of them. (I remember old Alpo used to love his garlands in the summer and tinsel crowns at Christmas.)

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2008-10-07 08:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh yes, I remember Alpo in his crown of flowers! None of my cats could stand it; they shake their heads to remove anything I put on them; even a little finger ring. Yet they love being stroked there.

Oh thanks for posting! The station-master cat is hilarious, and sooooo cute in his little hat.

Very! My cats wouldn't wear a hat (or cape) though. :-)
