Plots with a View
I've just seen a wonderful film, a Welsh comedy called Plots with a View. It's about a shy undertaker (Alfred Molina) who has loved a woman (Brenda Blethyn) for 30 years but never said anything. It had cats, showtunes, a crazed American undertaker (Christopher Walken), a Vulcan funeral that goes through the roof, and a happy ending that was perfect yet not at all soppy. What more could you want? I'm still grinning like an idiot.
It was filmed in south-east Wales which was a major factor in getting Greg to go (he's now in love with the place like me and we're definitely going back one day) and just for
linda_joyce, at one point someone says, "Faster than you can say Abertillery."
Before it was a trailer for Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow which I know nothing about other than it looks wonderful, all 1930s SF-style giant robot invasions and plucky Earthling fighter pilots. I want to see it.

I can say Abertillerty very quickly you know. The film sounds good I might just make the effort to go and see it if it ever gets shown round here. For somr reason Welsh themed films don't seem to be released in Wales.

And just in case you lose your underscore again, you could always log on and stay logged on like I do. Just set the expiry to 'never'.

I think the lack of Welsh themed films in Wales is a hang over from the days when there were very few Welsh actors and most of the caracters were charicatures of the Welsh and we didn't like it so didn't go to see them.
The distributors haven't caught up with the new trends, or the cinema goers haven't, yet
