Day 22 - Soolin

Today's entry for the [livejournal.com profile] naarmamo National Art Making Month challenge is another Blake's 7 portrait.

Soolin

My NaArMaMo 2008 Gallery is here.

Ooh, I think I might like her best so far!

Thanks! I think I prefer Dayna by a margin.

Dayna wins a gold medal[lion], and Soolin has silver! ;-)

:-D Who's up for bronze?!

She's lovely. I always forget how much I love Soolin!

Anyone else wear medallions in B7? Does Blake? I know I've read a story about him giving his to Avon but I'm not sure what it looks like.

I like Soolin too! She's cool, logical, and has hidden depths. It's a pity they never gave Jenna the same level of past tragedy, given the image of her mother being tortured.

Blake wears a medallion in The Web, in the scene where Jenna disturbs his rest break and he comes to the flight deck buttoning his shirt. It's silver I think.

I thought he had one. Oh well, it can be bronze for my purposes. I rather like the quick Blake portrait I did.

Ah, she's got such a lovely palette going on here. I'm not usually very fond of pastels, but she totally works them. I really like how this one came out. :D It's like a twin to my icon. :D

Those caps must have come from the same ep! I do like that outfit and hairstyle.

I wanted to give her an icy yet slightly warming background, and I've done dark or rich ones for Tarrant and Dayna. :-) Pale suits the ice princess!

Very pretty!

Thanks! :-)

She is so beautiful. I like the use of the warm, soft pastels, it makes a nice counterpoint to her cool, hard persona.

Thank you! I rather like Soolin because I get the feeling of further depths behind her icy surface.

Lovely. Soolin is a pastel person... which contrasts so beautifully with her hard, pragmatic personality :)

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2008-08-22 10:49 pm (UTC)(link)
You're the second to pick up on that! She could have assumed that personality to survive though; something I'm exploring in 'Lynx'. When I get back to it.

That is a lovely palette of colours you've chosen there. Your shading is as good as usual - it really brings like to the skin. The bone structure of the face is good too.

Thanks! I thought she suited a pale, cool palette to go with her hair and outfit. :-D

You've really captured her. She's perfect.

Wow, thanks! :-D

Wow! Her hair and skin are especiALLY amazing.

Thank you! I'm really glad the hair worked. Blendy-blend-blend!

Wow. That's beautiful. Both Soolin and the portrait. Love the blush and the highlights on her eyes.

Thank you!
