April Fools' Day jokes here

I forgot to post about my favourite local April Fools' Day joke last night when it was still the 1st here. Behold: the HydroBus.

Another good one was the Liquorland advertisement in yesterday's Herald which had 'taste patches' for different wines. Apparently quite a few people were licking them to find out that... they tasted of newspaper. There are usually some good ones in the Herald but we both forgot to buy one yesterday. There was a lovely long article one year about a German U-boat which came here during the war with photographs the captain took while he was ashore buying groceries and having a nice sit down and a cup of tea at a tea room. :-)

LOL people! That's what makes April Fool's day such fun!

They showed the page on TV: round spots of different winey colours for each wine. :-)

Ha, love that bus. What a perfect form of transport for Auckland, or Sydney, for that matter!

Did you see this one from the UK?

I did, on Linda's LJ. It reminded me to post this.

In Holland, the vegan association and a zoo teamed up for an april fools' day joke: they announced to the press that from april 1st on all the animals, including the big cats, would be put on a vegetarian diet. They made up a whole story where a tiger in India had apparently lived to 27 on such a diet. A lot of newspapers carried the story.

Ah yes, tigers do love their greens! ;-)

I'm not keen on meat (though I eat it occasionally) but I do know my cats are carnivores and need it. Luckily the dry food I buy looks very unlike meat and, even better, doesn't smell like it.

AHAHAHAHAHA! I use Intercity frequently, so that "photo" of the hydrobus cracked me up. HEE! XD

Isn't it great? So aerodynamic!
