What not to take to camp
One of my colleagues has a brochure and booking form for a children's holiday camp in the first week of the April school holidays, and I had a look at it because I never went on one. The list of things to take is pretty sensible, except for the "large plastic dirty washing bag". I suppose they're putting grubby clothes in it, but surely a clean one would help whoever has to wash the contents. ;-)
Even better is the list under "Please do not bring":
- Electronic equipment (i.e. radios, walkmans, gameboys, cellphones) - wouldn't e.g. be better? Some kid's going to take an iPod because it's not on the list.
- knives
- matches
- chewing gum
- toenail-flavoured chocolate pudding
- soap chewing gum

hmm matches...how about lighters?
And yes, I can also see kids bringing their iPods or mp3 players. Who even uses a walkman these days?

Oh well, at least it hasn't reached the stage of no guns or hand grenades.
