Hardly a surprise...

On the Free Career Inventory Personality Test I came out as INTP.

I knew I'd get INTP, and most of the suggested professions--except lawyer--appeal or are ones I've actually dabbled in. I've scored higher on Imaginative in the past; once I got 95% to 5% realistic--one toe on the ground! I agree with [livejournal.com profile] spacefall that 'easygoing' isn't the best word though; I think 'flexible' is better.

Avon is usually rated INTP, but oddly enough I much prefer Vila; Avon's too cold for me. And though I've always seen Vila as quite intuitive because of his hunches, I answered it as him ([livejournal.com profile] vila_restal), and sure enough he came out as the ESFP everyone says he is. I have to say the career choices suit him even if 'thief' isn't one.

I too tend to score higher on the imagiNative than I did on this test -- maybe it was the nature of the questions. As expected, I got INTJ, and it told me that one of my ideal careers was computer programming; gee, I'd never have guessed! (grin)

Yep, I got four computer-related suggestions in mine, all of which I've done. However I threw all that in a year ago. I liked the work, but not the stress of 24-hour support, unfriendly co-workers, and corporate back-stabbing and politics. I'm now doing whatever contracts come my way in the hopes I'll find something else I like. I've been project-managing the installation of voice comms into a university, but that's not my thing either--far too much interaction with strangers for my liking. I'm a back-room boffin type and there aren't that many opportunities around for that sort of thing any more.

Yep, I'm a back-room boffin myself. Probably one reason why I've stayed in my current job for almost ten years... I'm not doing support, I have friendly co-workers, it's fairly non-hierarchical, and most people there are more interested in getting the job done than wasting time on something as non-productive as back-stabbing or politics. Mind you, we're fairly picky about who we hire...

Ahhh...my perfect job. I had one like that once.

It's the old but usually true adage 'opposites attract'.

I can't decide between them as they are both opposites to me (ISFP)in different ways

However my Greg is a fellow INTP. We have so much in common, people notice that we laugh at the same jokes, we give each other lots of space, we're both a bit odd about our own obsessions. Only trouble is, neither of us have been bothered to organise or do any of the renovation required for the aging house we live in and the garden's getting overgrown again...

Welcome to the club, that must be in the characteristics we share,IP. Though the artistic side of me does send me out to look at paint colours from time to time.
