Site update - Lynx

Lynx is the PGP saga I've had in my head and been writing for about five years, always pushing it to the background to work on other stories with deadlines. I've finally finished the first two parts, which end at a satisfying place. Future parts will continue the story and also make a self-contained whole until I add more. I hope I'll be a lot faster with them and promise more in the next few months.

Thank you to [livejournal.com profile] astrogirl2 for her as ever excellent beta-reading. :-)

Lynx Part 1 - Rescues
Lynx Part 2 - Recovery

I'm about to go faceplant in my bed (too...much...Welsh...tonight!) but I'm really looking forward to this once I get past the craziness of the next 24 hours (throwing a party). I love reading fans' take on the PGP setting.

Whee!

I've got plenty of other PGP stories on my fiction page (http://www.farsight.net.nz/fiction/index.htm); look under the PGP heading. :-)

Enjoy your party!

OK now I have a good long story that would keep me entertained on my bus commute and I no longer travel by bus. Ah well this is my bed time reading for the rest of the week or if it is up to your usual standard just tonight.%D

I hope you like it!

I haven't finished the second part yet but just had to break off to register appreciation of this:

"The way I see it, if it says 'I', it’s alive."

Actually all through part 1 I was stopping to think "yes, that's just how it is in my fanon".

It seems like a slightly new writing style for you; the short intercut scenes remind me a bit of [livejournal.com profile] executrix. I'm enjoying it very much.

Thank you!

A lot of it's my old writing style--Astro and I found mistakes I don't make any more--since it was written throughout five years. I think the new feel is due to the chapter headings I added just before I sent it off to her to break it up because of the length.

Great story.

What you explained about the reasons behind Avon and Blake's relationship is almost exactly how I had envisioned it for my own story, but the part about Vila, that was genius. Very nicely done.

You mean why Avon treated Vila badly in S4? I've thought that for ages and have used it in a couple of [livejournal.com profile] b7friday fics. It's such a part of ny fanon, I'm not even sure whether or how it's slipped into any other longer stories. I've tried to keep some ideas just for this one as it's almost the first I thought up.

And I do know where it's going. :-D

It sounds like you're planning a long story series too. Great!

Have you done something like this before? I'm looking forward to having someone to talk to about the challenges of writing a long multi-part series.

Nope, just this one (though I have several non-B7 sagas in my head). My main problem, which you don't have, is other fic always taking precedence so that this took much, much longer to write than it should have. I won't make that mistake on the other parts.

Oh, this is a wonderful start to your PGP saga. I love the depth you are giving to Soolin, Carnell is a delight and your Vila is, as always, just perfect. :)

Thank you so much! I really have to get onto the next part which I think I'm calling Re/union. ;-)
