They're in the mail

It's Friday afternoon and I am so ready for the weekend. I'm not just exhausted from coughing; I'm limp from the humidity. I love summer, but really, this is going too a bit too far. It's been between 75% and 85% all week and someone said it was 92% today. :-( No wonder the photocopier broke down during an urgent run. Coming home to a shut-up house at 35C isn't much fun either. [sips ice-cold water]

But anyway, I have posted my B7 cards, so yay! The stamps this year are fun and seasonal: a BBQ for Australia and for the US and UK, beach cricket. :-) I hope I didn't forget anyone. If I have, my apologies and do let me know, but I'll post the pictures and text just before Christmas just in case some arrive late anyway.

Glad you got it all done, sorry you're still feeling so rotten! *pours you some adrenaline and soma* Stay cool. ♥

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2007-12-14 05:53 am (UTC)(link)
I have ice water and a fan going full-bore at me and I feel a bit better now. Well, cooler anyway. :-)

Aww, you have that icon too? :-)

[identity profile] vandonovan.livejournal.com 2007-12-14 05:55 am (UTC)(link)
Heee, I stole a couple from [livejournal.com profile] babel's post, aye. Though I made a bunch of Vila last night for another RP journal, so I should swap some out. XD

Yay for ice water and fans!

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2007-12-14 06:10 am (UTC)(link)
You're playing Vila elsewhere? !!!

[identity profile] vandonovan.livejournal.com 2007-12-14 06:12 am (UTC)(link)
That's the idea, anyway. *laughs* Good practice for both, I say! Right? *laughs*

[identity profile] kalinda001.livejournal.com 2007-12-14 05:48 am (UTC)(link)
Ugh...I hate humid weather too.

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2007-12-14 05:53 am (UTC)(link)
At least the sun's out today; it's been cloudy and stuffy all week.

[identity profile] zoefruitcake.livejournal.com 2007-12-14 08:05 am (UTC)(link)
I hope the humidity reduces x x

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2007-12-14 09:49 am (UTC)(link)
Me too. The clouds went today and the sun came out so I'm hoping.

[identity profile] imhilien.livejournal.com 2007-12-14 09:14 am (UTC)(link)
*offers more cold water* Hopefully the weekend won't be so humid...

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2007-12-14 09:48 am (UTC)(link)
I was all right once I cooled down with the fan on high and all the windows open. Took about an hour though.

A card is on its way to you. :-)

[identity profile] imhilien.livejournal.com 2007-12-15 01:45 am (UTC)(link)
That's good to hear. :)

Thanks! A card is on its way to you too...

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2007-12-15 02:48 am (UTC)(link)
[bounce] :-)

[identity profile] linda-joyce.livejournal.com 2007-12-14 09:43 am (UTC)(link)
Facing my 3rd day without proper heating, a gas fire just doesn't warm the rest of the house, I would welcome your weather.....not. If you could post me about 15 degrees of the heat from your house I would love it and pet it and call it George but that sort of humidity< you have my deepest sympathy.

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2007-12-14 09:47 am (UTC)(link)
I can imagine! Wasn't it you who complained about 50% or something wonderfully low once? ;-)

[identity profile] linda-joyce.livejournal.com 2007-12-14 10:04 am (UTC)(link)
Yep, anything over 50% here is called rain. I have never understood, emotionally, how air can hold so much moisture and let it fall as rain.

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2007-12-14 10:07 am (UTC)(link)
You mean not? 100% is raining here. :-(

[identity profile] linda-joyce.livejournal.com 2007-12-14 11:25 am (UTC)(link)
Yes I mean not, after not getting to sleep before 3:00am and waking again at 7:00 am I cant think and breath at the same time let alone type%P.

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2007-12-14 08:00 pm (UTC)(link)
I had a thought: perhaps you measure humidity differently from us. Because it's far too puzzling otherwise. You might use specific: we use relative, which is the proportion of water in the air compares to the maximum it can hold at that temperature without raining, so 92% is pretty high for a sunny day.

[identity profile] linda-joyce.livejournal.com 2007-12-14 08:12 pm (UTC)(link)
No it's my brain congealing from lack of sleep, it does take 100% humidity to give rain. The BBC five day forecast gives my area as 93% humidty but not rain just grey skies again. But I still don't like humidity over 50%, if it was cooler I'd live in the Sahara.%)

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2007-12-14 09:19 pm (UTC)(link)
I totally agree. All the same, I was totally healthy in Israel, England, and Germany.

[identity profile] spacefall.livejournal.com 2007-12-14 02:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Aha, glad you got some properly seasonal stamps! Look forward to seeing the beach cricket :D

[identity profile] kalypso-v.livejournal.com 2007-12-14 04:46 pm (UTC)(link)
That should puzzle the USAnians!

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2007-12-14 08:05 pm (UTC)(link)
If they see this (and they're on an my flist) they'll know what it is now. :-)

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2007-12-14 08:03 pm (UTC)(link)
It's not quite as good as an earlier one which had cartoony people playing on the beach in bright clothes; this one just has the wickets and a cap and the bat from memory. But still, yay!

[identity profile] matildabj.livejournal.com 2007-12-14 06:26 pm (UTC)(link)
*cheers you on, joins in with the whole coughing thing*

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2007-12-14 08:08 pm (UTC)(link)
It's so bloody tiring, and embarrassing too when you're trying to talk to people and can't. Here's hoping we're both better soon.

[identity profile] jaxomsride.livejournal.com 2007-12-14 11:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Sending you some virtual cough sweets
I can recommend Jakemans throat and Chest from personal experience.

Now if I could just e-mail some of the freezing cold we have you'd be cool in no time.

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2007-12-15 12:26 am (UTC)(link)
Ooh, nice. I actually like freezing cold; it means the air's dry. I used to live in Germany and I loved their climate.
