I agree, with the tiny quibble that there are hints that although Blake may have appointed himself the savior of the masses, there are others eager to grant him that title--remember in "Voice from the Past", when Gov. LeGrand is trying to convince Blake to become the leader of the "triumvirate", she refers to needing someone whom all factions will accept as leader, in her words "a messiah." That to me indicates that probably a large number of rebels were in the habit of putting Blake on at least a semi-divine pedestal.
