Howard's End and a Rudd slide, I hear they've been saying. ;-)
I'm seeing how I like it. I spent a lot of time yesterday customising it not to wrap text under icons in the entries and comments, and adding lines between posts, but I'm still not happy about the font. I also added the same header to good old Punquin Elegant (see a preview here (http://vilakins.livejournal.com/?s2id=18141409)) so I can always go back to that.

Good idea -- I do find that annoying sometimes, it can often render things less readable.
I must admit, I don't usually spend a lot of time customizing my LJ -- well, not more than what can be done from the interface; I haven't delved into heavy CSS customization for LJ. I guess I do that enough on my own website, and with LJ I'd rather "set and forget" even if it isn't quite what I want.
I was seduced by the space layout but I wouldn't use it until I could fix it. It wrapped under icons in both entries and comments which made it very hard to read in some cases, esp blockquotes and lists. I like nice neat columns. I might fiddle with the font yet but I suppose I'm just used to the bigger one on Punquin Elegant. I do love PE but this layout has some nice features PE is missing (and that I've suggested they add).
It is! As I said above, I'm seeing how I like it. I spent a lot of time yesterday customising it and I also added the same header to good old Punquin Elegant (see a preview here (http://vilakins.livejournal.com/?s2id=18141409)) so I can always go back to that.
I'll have to see how it loads under IE7 at work which is a slower connection. I dumped Component because that was so slow.
