Necklace and earrings for my sister
I suddenly realised it's my sister's birthday next weekend and that I needed to make up the necklace and earrings I've had the bits for since months ago.
Very simple and quick to do. I don't think it scanned that well because of the reflections and glitter. The necklace has a piece of dichroic glass I bought a while back (the most expensive part), crimped to keep it in place so the catch doesn't work its way round to the front; I hate that. I decided to make her two pairs of earrings (not dichroic; some other glittery glass) which will bring out the teal and pink respectively in the glass. The pendant should hang just at her throat, but if she wants a different length, I now have the skills and tools to redo it easily enough.
Now I just need to wrap them up carefully and post them to her.

Have you done your dichroic glass one yet? I used a silver seed bead either side, then a crimp (which looks bigger than it is due to reflections) which also hides the rather large hole through the pendant.

I actually wore it on my birthday, having fitted the earrings to clip-on fittings. 8-)
Have you done your dichroic glass one yet?
Not yet. I'm wondering if I should use tigertail for it or maybe get a very fine chain.

A chain would look nice too as yours is larger. The advantage of tigertail to me is being able to crimp the pendant in place so the catch doesn't work round, plus my Mondrian dichroic one was done in that style. Actually the shape of yours might make the large hole in it not so obvious, and you can probably get the catch of a fine chain right through it. :-)
Have you worn the purple one with the earrings you bought at the market?
(Off to bed now.)

Well, the only people I saw that day were my parents, when we went out to lunch, and yes they noticed it. But I think I actually drew it to their attention, so it may not count.
Have you worn the purple one with the earrings you bought at the market?
No, I need to change over the earrings to clip-ons first.
But I have worn the blue magnetic necklace I bought at the market, last Friday, when I was giving my talk.
Have you worn any of yours yet?

I gave in and had my ears pierced so I would wear the lovely earrings I saw in shops. I try to keep the collection to not too many over 100 pairs...

How nice to have a choice of earrings to wear with the necklace. You have wonderful colour-sense.
For myself, I'd prefer more rounded, flowing shapes for the glass. But that's just what I'd choose for myself. No criticism of your work.

You're interested in dichroic glass, aren't you? If you let me know the sort of colours you like, I could send you a pendant.
