Coloured username meme

Since everyone else is doing this...

Instructions:
1. Copy and paste this: yourusername into your journal.
2. Replace [] with <>
Here's mine FWIW. It's green according to IE6, but Mozilla Firefox seems to make most of them black. Colours also seem to change depending on whether you're looking at your friends page, the actual post, or making a comment. [shrug]

It's all part of the weird and wonderful world of Microsoft. :-)

Strangely, they look the same to me in all three views, which seems a bit of a swizz! And they all seem to be either some shade of greeny-blue or in a few cases burgundy; I've given up hoping for purple.

I think Mozilla screws them up. They look all right under IE6.

[livejournal.com profile] honsonphile did a list and got a magenta and something she said was purple but looked dark blue to me.

No, Mozilla does the right thing. Most usernames aren't valid colour names (nor valid colour descriptions), so it uses the default colour for the page. It's MSIE that does the wrong thing when it sees something that doesn't make sense and proceeds to pull a colour out of its ass.

Well, good for Mozilla! [feels better]
