Ah, crap

We got into town only to find the concert cancelled. Pizza at the food hall and coffee at Borders was not the evening I had in mind. Still, we picked up some DVDs including I, Claudius which we only had on tape and season 8 of Inspector Rex, so it wasn't a complete loss. And now for a nice cup of tea, a sit down, and some Hyperdrive. Shut it; I like Hyperdrive and its strange and indefinably British humour.

There's a total eclipse of the moon tonight in a couple of hours but that fails to delight me given that all we'll see will be clouds and sodding rain. [hates winter with a vengeance] :-(

shame about the concert :0( All that rushing around was for nothing. Glad that it wasn't a complete loss, but still, how disappointing.

I love Hyperdrive though :0)

Yeah, that especially annoyed me: a lot of rushing about and feeling sick because Greg cornered so fast for bloody nothing.

Yay, someone else who loves Hyperdrive!

Oh drabbit, pity about the concert. But you do have excellent taste in DVDs, m'dear... :)

IOW yours! :-)

[identity profile] astrogirl2.livejournal.com 2007-08-28 08:52 am (UTC)(link)
Bah.

And it's pretty cloudy here, too. :(

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2007-08-28 09:29 am (UTC)(link)
Is it cold and windy and wet too? I want a lunar eclipse, dammit.

[identity profile] astrogirl2.livejournal.com 2007-08-28 09:32 am (UTC)(link)
It's cold in the office, because they've got the damned A/C cranked up to arctic levels. It's nice outside, but I can't stay out too long. And there's nothing to see but a bright smudge on the clouds. :(

Here's hoping it clears up a bit for at least one of us.

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2007-08-28 10:25 am (UTC)(link)
It has, and the wind's dropped. The moon's gone pink! Very like Tessa's eye in fact, as we've told her.

Yay! Glad to hear something's worked out for ya tonight!

Sadly, the sky is still a featureless blank here...

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2007-08-28 10:36 am (UTC)(link)
Awww. There's still time (2.5 hours?) to see the other half of the eclipse. Now I've found we can see that bit of sky from one window, I'm going upstairs and not venturing out in that cold wind again.

Shame about the evening :-( but here's another yay for Hyperdrive

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2007-08-28 09:28 am (UTC)(link)
YAY! Jeffers doing his 2001 stint in the recovery module was classic.

[identity profile] kalinda001.livejournal.com 2007-08-28 09:04 am (UTC)(link)
it's a shame about the concert

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2007-08-28 10:26 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah. I can't muster the enthusiasm to book another night.

[identity profile] nautile26.livejournal.com 2007-08-28 10:30 am (UTC)(link)
La bella luna!

It's a perfect night here to see the eclipse. We've been sitting on the verandah, sipping a Spy Valley Pinot Gris and watching the earth's shadow consume the moon. Awesome.

Back to earth - commiserations for the cancelled concert. We have tickets for a Tori Amos concert in September and I recieved notice today that the concert has been rescheduled. Fine...except that it is now on the day we fly home from a week's holiday in Queensland. Grrr.

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2007-08-28 10:32 am (UTC)(link)
We've found we can see it though one window. No way am I spending more than 30 seconds out in our weather. [is still cold]

Bum. At least you didn't turn up to find the place locked and a crappy piece of A4 pinned to a wall. [stab]
