Through the Stargate

[blinks to clear misty eyes] I just watched the last SG1 episode.

I wasn't sure I was going to be able to watch it when I realised they'd been there for 20 years and might die there; I knew it would get worse. That was just so claustrophobic and sad and... at one point I had to look at a curtain and blind catalogue to take my mind off how awful it was for them. I had no idea how they'd get out of that time bubble, but having the one person who was relatively unaged was a nice solution and also meant that it wasn't a complete rewind and reset. Because that would have cheapened all those long years of sacrifice.

You know, I made it all the way through without tearing up till Teal'c said, "Good things come to those who wait." Oh, damn, Teal'c. You got me with that one, and your "Indeed" which almost ended the series. I'm going to miss you all. I hope Daniel and Vala realise and admit how they feel about each other this time round too; we had a hint they would with their "Life is short."

Vale Vala et al.

I'm just watching a few early eps of Stargate but I found out that Farscape loaned a few actors across by the end.

Right I have to go and scrump mulberries. I came back from my parents last night and have just slept twelve hours!

Yep, Mitchell, who is very like Crichton, and Vala, who is not at all like Aeryn. Claudia Black turns out to be very good at comedy.

Funniest line from her in this one was her saying in Daniel's ear, "I'm going to go crazy--and I'm taking you with me." :-D I love Vala.

I thought it was all incredibly sad. And I really thought it was a fitting end to series.

I also loved the 200th episode, in contrast to most people I know. I'm really going to miss it.

You know about Sanctuary?

I found it hard to watch in places. Now strong and enduring Teal'c bears the memories.

Hey, I love 200 too, except for the very last bit when the Wormhole Xtreme actors are bitching to the camera. Most people I know here loved it, even [livejournal.com profile] astrogirl2 who hadn't started watched SG1 then. It's so cool with all those salutes to SF and fantasy: Thunderbirds, the Wizard of Oz, that one no one had heard of, Farscape...

I only know that Amanda Tapping is in Sanctuary, but she's not Sam, is she? The one link I followed made it look like more horror than SF.
