I hope you have a great birthday, and I'm sure you will with [livejournal.com profile] steverogerson there. :-) Here, have a virtual Sherlock Holmes action figure even though he doesn't seem to come equipped with a Watson.

Are they popular in Spain? My friend [livejournal.com profile] spacefall is a big fan and has even visited most of the story locations. :-)

Hey, they form part from the history of the world popular literature: there are even comic parodies, etc and just Sherlock I think is a very loved character everywhere.
And well, even Spain , from the point of view of Catalonia, culturally speaking seems us a half retarded and unlearned country, they have access to anything happens in the world, with translations from any language, as we have here in Catalonia. Another matter is if they take profit to all this information which is a lot more arguably thing.
(Sorry if some Spanish friend feel offended reading this but I couldn't help myself to be a bit bastard with this matter; too yummy to leave it scape: I hope all you have some humour sense and to all those who not, sorry but is your problem ;)

Oh, I knew everyone would know about Sherlock Holmes, but I wasn't sure if her was popular, because it doesn't always follow. A Czech friend told me that though she loves the Swallows and Amazon books, they're considered "too English" there.

He comes equipped with a ruddy big magnifying glass though. I wonder if it's actually got magnifying glass in it ?

Possibly. Maybe you can remove it and the pipe and swap them over. ;-)
