Vic doing the crossword

I heard Greg in the TV room saying, "All right, you can sit there, but just don't fall off." When I went in, Vic was sitting, not on the keyboard as he often does (to the sound of error beeps; see icon) but on our Apple TV box, looking at the crossword Greg had been doing.

"I've only got one left. 'US comedian bringing vehicle across rough sea'? Hmm, wonder if it's an anagram..."

"Oh look, there goes Claudia, stalking past looking imperious. That cat's name has gone to her head."

"Imperious? Ah, I've got it: Caesar! Damn, I wish I had opposable claws."

Actually, that was the last unsolved clue and I got it straight away, Greg not knowing who Sid Caesar was. :-)

Awww.

I'm sure there's some cat-of-the-day site that would be interested in those photos... 8-)

I don't know one though, just the Daily Kitten (which had a tabby Nico kitten the other day).

"Stuff on my cat"? I guess not, since this is a cat on stuff, rather than stuff on a cat.

Lovely!

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2007-06-21 06:07 am (UTC)(link)
He's a very photogenic cat, and always very well dressed.

Awww! Clever cat!!

I wonder whether he knows about online crosswords? No opposable claws required...

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2007-06-21 06:48 am (UTC)(link)
This is probably why he keeps getting on the keyboard.

[identity profile] linda-joyce.livejournal.com 2007-06-21 06:56 am (UTC)(link)
He's a lovely boy, and so intelligent.

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2007-06-21 07:02 am (UTC)(link)
He's very clever. He didn't know how to purr, play, or do endearing things when we found him as a very shy one-year-old. He learned all those things from watching the girls, including head-butting us like Claudia and rolling over and doing the "I'm adorable" pose like Tessa.

[identity profile] zoefruitcake.livejournal.com 2007-06-21 07:58 am (UTC)(link)
love them :0)

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2007-06-21 09:47 am (UTC)(link)
Thanks! :-D

Aaaw - such a cute and clever guy!

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2007-06-21 10:18 am (UTC)(link)
He is! Whenever I feel like I fail at life, Greg tells me I've brought up three lovely cats. ;-)

Here he is in this icon, looking for the crossword in a paper.

What a great set of pics, and I love the captions.

I'm sure if Diesel could have one wish, she'd ask for opposable thumbs. I've seen her trying so hard to pick things up, or hold onto them. It's probably just as well for mankind that she doesn't.

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2007-06-21 10:19 am (UTC)(link)
Tessa just bites things and carries them around. "My teeth are opposable enough," she says.

[identity profile] spacefall.livejournal.com 2007-06-21 01:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Cosy! :D

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2007-06-21 08:27 pm (UTC)(link)
He likes sitting on electronics and the woofer.

[identity profile] entropy-house.livejournal.com 2007-06-21 02:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Awww, Vic is so handsome. I do adore tuxedo cats.

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2007-06-21 08:23 pm (UTC)(link)
He's a very cute cat!

[identity profile] entropy-house.livejournal.com 2007-06-21 08:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Dashing and debonair!

[identity profile] snowgrouse.livejournal.com 2007-06-21 03:48 pm (UTC)(link)
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.

I'm going to have to show these to my Dad, he loves crosswords as much as he loves cats!:D

[identity profile] snowgrouse.livejournal.com 2007-06-21 06:13 pm (UTC)(link)
And I just have. He loved them. "So, the crosswords in New Zealand are so easy that even a cat can solve them...":D

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2007-06-21 08:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, yes? Would he have figured out Vic's clue?

[identity profile] snowgrouse.livejournal.com 2007-06-21 08:48 pm (UTC)(link)
I didn't explain it to him, just showed him the pics as we were busy assembling a bookshelf. But I bet he would've got the clue, he's a crossword champ, one of the best in Finland.

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2007-06-21 10:08 pm (UTC)(link)
We both love crossies and do them over lunch in a cafe in the weekends. So nerdy. :-P So we would get on well, esp with Greg being a big Prisoner fan.

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2007-06-21 08:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Do you have cryptic crosswords in Finland? They're what we prefer doing, but I'm not sure if other languages have them. When I lived in Germany, there were lots of synonym ones.

[identity profile] snowgrouse.livejournal.com 2007-06-21 08:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, cryptos, we get those:). Dad prefers the big difficult ones to cryptos, but fills those in from time to time.

[identity profile] astrogirl2.livejournal.com 2007-06-21 04:02 pm (UTC)(link)
"I'm in ur paper doin' ur crosswords!" :)

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2007-06-21 08:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Purrfect!

[identity profile] jaxomsride.livejournal.com 2007-06-21 04:48 pm (UTC)(link)
He is a gorgeous cat
By the way three other cat communities
[livejournal.com profile] kittenbreak (which doesn't just do kittens)
[livejournal.com profile] caturday
[livejournal.com profile] cat_macros

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2007-06-21 08:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Thanks! I know the cat macro one, and I'll check the others out when I get home.
