Doctor Who: Gridlock
And for once I'm not the last one on my flist to see it. That? Was an excellent and joy-making ep.
Speaking of flists, I loved the motorway people having friends lists. Since I can't think of anything I didn't like, here's all the stuff I did:
- Cats! And an adorable Irish one played by Ardal O'Hanlon (Dougal in Father Ted).
- Kittens! I wonder when they become sentient, but they were only two months old.
- The motorway people, a wonderfully eccentric lot undefeated by their lives, esp the two old ladies and their book.
- Martha being stroppy and brave and intelligent and making the Doctor talk to her at the end.
- The Doctor telling her about Gallifrey (but not--yet--that he was the cause).
- Novice Hame redeeming herself by tending the Face of Boe and saving the undercity. Oh and having the gun for pirates.
- The plot not being about the callous disregard of the undercity's people, but the saving of them.
- It wasn't on Earth (well, the old one)!

Mind you, I don't think he even told Rose that he was the cause. We only found out because we as viewers were able to watch his conversation with the Dalek in "Dalek". On all other occasions the Doctor said that the Daleks were the cause.
But, yes, I loved his descriptions of Gallifrey.
I'm not sure why I'm not squeeing like everyone else on my flist, though I did enjoy it.
Well, I suppose I'm low with this cold (which I seem to be getting over, at least).

Yay to more cat people.
There is something essentially British about that Motorway. People waiting endlessly in line for years stoically assuming there would be a journey's end.
As for the rest of New New York, what sort of virus travels that fast? I can understand them being so caught up in the patches that they simply "stopped".
Poor face of Bo! Does that mean we are going to have the Master returning?
As for the Doctor being the cause? The Timelords and the Daleks have been trying to wipe each other out since "Genesis of The Daleks". He might have played his part but he was hardly the sole cause of the Time War.

I had a mental image of him trying to sidle out with a kitten in his pocket!
The run down on it was fairly good except for some of them couldn't say enough in praise of Russel T - a bit too sycophantic.
Other than that it was entertaining.

This was my point.
Besides one said "Mama!"
Neither I nor Greg heard that. How cute!
Yeah, 7 minutes is a bit steep. I thought at first that they had just stayed in their bliss state till they starved, but I suppose RTD wanted something so fast that the undercity couldn't be warned.
Apparently John Simms is to play the Master.
The Doctor said he was the cause when he was talking to the captured Dalek in S1.

I imagine never arguing with RTD would be a job requisite.

Definitely not; I didn't get the chance to watch it until just now. I thought I was going to die of impatience. :)
