1000 and counting!

Yay! This is the 1000th post on my LJ!

LJArchive, which I downloaded a few days ago after glitterboy1 recommended it, tells me it is, though LJ itself thinks it's 974. glitterboy1 and I were puzzled about the discrepancy, but the very next day LJ admitted in this post to a bug that decreased the count by two every time anyone deleted a post. I didn't think I'd deleted as many as 13, but maybe I have.

I hope they fix the count on people's profile, but I won't hold my breath.

Seriously, hurrah, and I'm looking forward to seeing lots more....

I suppose they *might* fix the count, but like you, I'm not holding my breath. They must maintain that separate count to avoid having to calculate it on the fly by looking at the actual posts. Recalculating and updating everyone's count would probably be a big job.

LOL he's just being weird :p He made a film called "Pondlife" and no offence but it's really badly shot and it's a comedy but comedy is so hard because what you find funny I could think is awful.

Congratulations! I delete quite a few, because if I'm doing something complicated I may draft it in advance and post it privately, so I can check it works (previews don't spot everything), then delete it after I've done the proper one. So maybe I have done far more than 428 really.

I don't usually delete posts, that's the thing. I've changed my mind about a few, but that would only be a handful, or so I thought. I've deleted a lot more RPG posts when another player beat me to making a new one.

I only found out I was a few short of 1000 when I downloaded LJArchive. It's good for searching your LJ, but I mainly wanted to ensure I had a copy of my stories.

I wonder what happens if someone deletes more than half the posts they've made? Do they get negative numbers?

I'm not quite curious enough to make an experimental LJ, put up 3 posts and delete 2 of them.

You can look on your profile at the very bottom (click on "more details"). You've made 1516 according to them, and you started quite a while after me!

There's no point in experimenting now they've fixed that bug. :-)

The only point in doing it now would be to verify that they actually *HAVE* fixed the bug. I have so little trust. :^)
