GIP
I changed my default icon to this new one.
Many people didn't get the "Delta bad hand" on the old one, and I also decided it was a bit negative, so I've gone for a wordless Vila picture. I made three of them but I decided I liked this one best, and the colours turned out to match my layout quite well which was a bonus.
[Edit] I still have "Delta bad hand" and will continue to use it. It might even have more impact when it's not there out of sheer laziness.
And I finally have my brains_in_a_jar story complete in my head so it's time to start writing. Yay, hard SF!

I still have "Delta bad hand" and I'll keep using it.

But yeah, maybe a bit negative.

I've always thought that 'Delta bad hand' was quite funny, but I see what you mean about it as a default. Words can tie an icon down to a particular mood/sense, and you don't always want that.

I feel a bit sad changing it because I've had it as default since I joined LJ, but the meaning gets a bit diluted too if it's used too often. Now it will be my 'hard luck' icon which I hope will eventually give it more impact.

I thought of changing my default, but I'd want another Svankmajer, and the pictures are rather hard to get :(

Your default is good; it doesn't have an overt message and is an interesting picture with impact. :-)

glad you are keeping the old, I love a good pun and that one always makes me smile.

I'll be keeping this one until I find a better white dragon!

BTW my middle name is Ruth. :-)

At least I don't have to explain to you why the dragon's white!

BTW a google image search on "white dragon" (http://images.google.co.nz/images?hl=en&q=%22white+dragon%22&btnG=Search+Images) turns up some nice pics.

I like the version of that with Christopher Plummer voicing over an animation!
My daughter used to watch it! Not me honest! Though I do love his voice - quintissentially English - which is very funny for a klingon quoting Shakespeare!

I'm glad that you're keeping the old one, though. I'd grown fond of it.
