Animals in traffic

[livejournal.com profile] trixieleitz posted about the kitten on the motorway yesterday. Today, it was a penguin on the Harbour Bridge!

I tell you, it's all go in Auckland, the city where I once saw sheep which had escaped from Cornwall Park blocking traffic on a main road.

PooR kitten! Hope that its not an abandoned Christmas present!
It definitely deserves better than having to play chicken on a motorway!

I know! He could have wandered if his family was on holiday while he was being fed by neighbours, but I do worry about kittens at this time of year. At least this one will find a good home after all that publicity.

I saw the article about the kitten - I'm glad it was rescued.

There's never a dull moment in Auckland, that's for sure. I remember a few years ago there was a cow (I think) on the motorway.

This sort of thing so tickles an Aussie friend of mine. We're not a hick town. Really. We just run animals in our parks.

Pfft! You're just working on fodder for Motorway Patrol! [takes tongue out of cheek]

I haven't seen that (is it a reality show?) so that arrow missed its target. :-P

Is a reality show, I suppose. Closer to documentary than a lot of 'em, if that's any sort of distinction at all. I'm surprised Channel 9 didn't just take the concept and make an Australian version. Bound to be similar sorts of idiots in Sydney, say, as there are in Auckland...
