Hammock pics

It seems to be summer at last--sun, a little heat, and the first cicadas--which was perfect weather for an afternoon read and nap in the hammock. After all, it'll probably rain tomorrow.

Anyway, here are the pics I took yesterday.

The hammock on its stand, which is marine steel, guaranteed to survive our harsh environment. It's easily moved too, to chase sun or shade. I'm planning to take it on holiday later this year.

Claudia in the hammock. :-D The photo was a bit out-of-focus so I sharpened it, probably too much.

She looks so comfy :)

She was!

My supposition is correct the hammock is comfortable or you wouldn't get a cat any where near it. And Claudia looks very determined not to be moved.

She was pretty happy, even though the hammock was rocking slightly. This is the cat though who loves being carried in the empty laundry basket after I've hung the washing out.

That looks great - though I suspect that, now that Claudia's found it, you may have trouble getting to use it yourself! :-)

Claudia's not keen on getting in unassisted. We put her there and she liked it, but she and Tessa just look longingly at me when I'm in it. Greg has to lift them up. I suppose they can see it's not very solid and they've had bad experiences in the past with launching themselves onto seemingly solid sheets drying over lines.

*laughs* Poor things! Yes, I can see how that would make them dubious...

They'll probably be leaping on like expert sailors in a few days.

oh it looks lovely and comfy, she looks like she owns it

She and Tessa own everything here including us. Vic's a lodger; having arrived much later, he's only tolerated by them. I just wish they'd pay the mortgage.

Our dog's like that too...

[looks at your userpics] Rusty! He's cute. :-)

Awwww, luverly;D

It is! A most excellent design.

All your hammock are belong to us.

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2006-12-26 10:01 pm (UTC)(link)
I'll have to see how Tessa likes it. She circled me yesterday, looking anxious about the swinging, but didn't give it a go, and Greg wasn't there to lift her in. One in it or on me in it, they're happy.

Looks like Claudia thinks that the hammock is HER christmas present!

[identity profile] peladonww.livejournal.com 2006-12-26 07:03 pm (UTC)(link)
No, no, she's a cat. She KNOWS it's her christmas present. Who else could it be for? She might be prepared to lend it in exchange for a really nice piece of fish or a particularly comfortable lap though.

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2006-12-26 09:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Luckily she's not keen (so far) on jumping into it; we have to put her there. She does prefer furniture with us on it though, or warmed by us. We're useful that way.

She and Tessa own everything here. We just pay for it.

That's theway with cats!
