Gareth Thomas in Torchwood

I just heard from the Horizon Club that Gareth Thomas is in the next Torchwood episode, Ghost Machine. [Ignores ideas for a crossover in which Orac messes about with time and Cally or Jenna blow Owen away.]

Also, Gareth has just recorded another episode in the Dalek Wars series, Return of the Daleks, in which he plays Kalendorf for Big Finish Productions along with Sylvester McCoy as the Doctor. He's now filming an episode of Midsomer Murders (mentioned recently on my flist) as Welshman Huw Mostyn.

I thought that was him in the preview! I have to say, next week's looked pretty good.

It's hard to tell from previews, but it did, yes.

Given that their previews have so far made everything look dumber than it is, I'd say it's a good sign that this one looks good. :)

Yeah, true! :-D

I haven't seen the first one yet, and had decided that I wouldn't bother because the promotional stuff makes it look more than just dumb, and I didn't much like Captain Jack anyway. But if the series itself is better than it looks then I'll watch it tonight after all.

I'd say give it a go! I didn't like episode 2 quite as much (let's show lots of sex because we can) but I'm sticking with it.

Captain Jack is a lot more serious in this. I think he's an excellent character with some interesting depth.

The pilot episode had potential - it was less dumb than the trailers made out. The second one felt like a misstep to me, on the whole - if it were a series of that, I'm not sure I'd bother. The third one does look quite, quite good, from the trailer, at least.

This is a slightly different version of Jack than we saw on DW; it's more focused on the colder, harder view of Jack that was only sort of hinted at on DW.

PS - don't ignore it, write it. Cally gets Jack's coat.

And it would look great on her!

I was going to say that you shouldn't ignore it ;0)

I'll wait till I see who GT plays in the next ep then. :-)

I agree. This sounds like A Good Thing :)

RT gives a different plot summary for the Sunday showing as compared to Wednesday.

Sunday:- Gwen is haunted by the vision of a lonely boy when she retrieves an alien object from a fleeing hoodie.

Wednesday:- An alien object shows visions of the past to the Torchwood team, bringing a long buried crime to the surface.
