Lost otter

Wonderful: I didn't realise till now that Auckland Zoo has Asian otters! I too can go and see otters! And I will, along with the new touchable cheetahs (scroll down).

Worrying: I know about the otters because, one of them, Jin, escaped last week. She managed to swim the harbour and has been seen in Devonport. I hope the zoo staff succeed in catching the poor little thing soon. I'm so worried about her, I resisted all the Lost Jin jokes. :-(

Oh, yes, I saw something about that earlier. Poor wee pet, I hope they find her well and soon.

They've been using otter calls and putting out food for her but they think she's panicked. And it's so cold! At least people are aware and know to call the zoo if they see her.

Otters are adorable... I think the publicity will mean people are looking out.

They are. The zoo staff have put posters everywhere and told people not to approach and panic her, but to call them and close her in if they see her in a garden or yard.

Yes! I want to see otters of my own--I did on the news last night; there seem to be about ten of themL otterpile!--and stroke cheetahs.
