It's a wonderful link

And on a lighter note, do you remember those pull-tab kids' books? I have a Star Trek one (as does [livejournal.com profile] astrogirl2) and a reproduction of a 19th century German one called Nur für Brave Kinder. Anyway, today's User Friendly link is to an electronic version called It's a Wonderful Internet, in which a guy finds out what his life would have been like without it. I love the retro voice-over. Do pull the tabs and move the levers and play with each 'page'. :-)

Cool, isn't it?

Life without the internet simply doesn't bear thinking about. :)

I know! I worry about the cables that connect us to the rest of the world sometimes.

That was cute! I had books like that when I was a kid, too. Interactive entertainment before the Internet. :)

And the I loved the tie-in with the film. :-)

8-)

But Al Gore didn't invent the internet!

I think that was a joke because of his 'information highway' stuff. That was him, wasn't it?

He tried to pretend he invented the internet, yes. So I guess it was intended as a joke.

Anyway, George threw him out. :-)
