Cards, cars, and cats

Cards

I got birthday cards (it's tomorrow) from [livejournal.com profile] kalypso_v and [livejournal.com profile] mistraltoes! [livejournal.com profile] kalypso_v's one is so deliciously chocolatey it makes my mouth water (no, you haven't sent that one before) and [livejournal.com profile] mistraltoes's one has a piglet who prefers accessorising to exercising -- how well they both know me! Thank you both for the lovely words therein. [hugs]

And now for some picspam, just four photos, and all less than 40KB.

Cars

My old car was sold yesterday. It was a good and faithful steed up till almost the end, and it was going so well in the last two weeks, I felt guilty. Perhaps it was an attempt to get me to relent, but it was too late. :-(

My old car, all clean and polished, just before I sold it. Sorry, old planet-hopper.

The new LIBR8R, all silvery and pointy.

Cats

I brought some washing in and put it over a chair before taking it upstairs. When I went to get it, Tessa had pulled most of it on the floor and borrowed into it. She was so cute, I didn't have the heart to move her.

When I looked later, Claudia was there too, saying, "Don't look at me, it was like this when I got here."

Happy Birthday! And cuddle your kitties for me. ;)

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2006-04-27 05:35 am (UTC)(link)
I have! (I must feed them too).

The day's tomorrow (Friday in my timezone) but the real celebrations are in the weekend. We're going to Hamilton for a wine festival and a steamboat cruise. I'll post about that tomorrow. :-)

New car looks great!

I missed my old car sooo much when I sold it

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2006-04-27 09:54 am (UTC)(link)
I'm glad I'm not the only one. Things that go seem to have personalities somehow and I felt, I dunno, disloyal. I hate getting rid of things when they still work. I'm really not a consumer.

BTW I've seen Smart cars here, and the other day I was surprised to see one 'for four'. I didn't know they made them; it was very cute. :-)

[identity profile] sallymn.livejournal.com 2006-04-27 10:14 am (UTC)(link)
Yep, and I felt guilty too.

Not for long though...

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2006-04-27 10:37 am (UTC)(link)
I hope that's true for me. I can't remember how long the guilt at trading in the red Civic lasted. I've seen it at the local mall recently too, just to rub in that it's still going well years later. But hey, it didn't have aircon so I had a good reason.

This one does have some nice features though.

Awww! I love the third one, with Tessa peering out.

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2006-04-27 09:57 am (UTC)(link)
She was so adorable! I was about to pick up the clothes exasperatedly when her little face appeared and made me laugh. She loves being inside and under things, the little duvet-diver.

Hehe, cute naughty cat

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2006-04-27 10:01 am (UTC)(link)
They're so funny and cute, I can't get annoyed, even when Tessa pulls my leather caps onto the floor just so she can sleep on my woollen berets.

Ooh, DSV2 is very shiny! And Tessa looks so pleased with herself!

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2006-04-27 10:34 am (UTC)(link)
It is! DSV1 was pretty cool when I first got it too. Greg also named my PC 'Liberator' on the network here so it gets a bit confusing. I have no idea why he didn't use call it Zen.

Tessa can look very smug. They both know how to pose to maximum effect.

Lovely kitties!

Pretty!

Happy birthday for tomorrow just in case I don't remember to say so tomorrow!

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2006-04-28 03:20 am (UTC)(link)
Thank you!

[identity profile] astrogirl2.livejournal.com 2006-04-27 01:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Ooh, the new Lib is indeed all shiny and pretty!

Happy B-Day!

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2006-04-28 03:21 am (UTC)(link)
Thanks! Actually it's an annoying one since Telecom dorked my connection and I'm at the library with a lot of school kids. :-(

The new Lib is very shiny and new-looking!

[identity profile] astrogirl2.livejournal.com 2006-04-28 03:57 am (UTC)(link)
Bummer. Ah, well, here's hoping the weekend is much better!

[identity profile] snowgrouse.livejournal.com 2006-04-27 01:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Hee! And a happy birthday in advance...

I've seen cats burrow into weird places to sleep on something soft (the weirdest I've seen was Noki in a really tall box that had heavy stuff on top and the lid closed when I saw her inside), but not of them pulling stuff down... sneaky buggers!:D

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2006-04-28 03:23 am (UTC)(link)
Tessa pulls my leather caps onto the floor so she can sleep on my woollen berets. She's a clever little thing.

[identity profile] toft-froggy.livejournal.com 2006-04-27 05:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Ooh, happy birthday! What a lovely looking new car, and OMG I can't believe you called it the LIBR8R *g*. You're so cool.

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2006-04-28 03:25 am (UTC)(link)
My old car was LIBR8R too; I transferred the plates. :-) The old one's paint all peeled off the roof at one stage (I should never have let Avon drive it through an enzyme cloud) but I got that repainted a couple of years ago.

This one's more spacechip-coloured. :-)

I missed your birthday when my net was down! So sorry...

Love both the Liberators.... :D and is there nothing that attracts cats like clean laundry? my god...

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2006-04-28 10:56 am (UTC)(link)
That's OK--the net was down for me for 6 hours today. And it's still my birthday for a hour or so, so you haven't missed it. :-)

Those guys will lie on or preferably under anything that belongs to us, clean laundry or not. Take off a jacket and whump! there's a cat in it. :-P
