Here's my story for the Blake's 7 Jarriere ficathon.

Chance Meeting

I wrote it for hawkeye7 whose request was simply that Avon be in it. My thanks to astrogirl2 for her beta.

Super! Love the ice cream, love Avon and Jarriere knowing each other, love the bird, the conversation about costumes. Very good Jarriere. And liked Avon's remark about beaks and claws getting into things, and them drinking to Jarriere - pretty much everything.

One thing - I'm wondering if you left out a word in this sentence, after 'with':

Avon glared as he loaded his spoon with "Imminent danger of our lives...

I hope you'll write more Jarriere some time in future! :)

Aaugh! There was meant to be a flavour there. OK, read it as mango (though he hated to admit Vila was right) and macadamia.

Lovely one, and Duncan's probably the closest of the other seven to Grego, which is not to say that I haven't really enjoyed meeting all the other six!

Ah, I always suspected something like that!

And I loved Orac wanting to teleport them out because of the danger posed by the "saturated fats and sugar".

He gently unhooked the bird from his hair, stroked it, set it back on his shoulder, and gave Avon and Vila a birdlike look of his own.

And that's just perfect.

I can't recall when I first heard the fanon about Avon's taste for ice cream. It goes back a long way. I remember one online discussion where kannaophelia had me searching all over town for Tia Maria and Macadamia nut ice cream (found it!)

Loved this bit:

PS: What the heck is mangan? I tried searching on the net but all I get is references to some kind of ore.

It's the stuff Avon and Nebrox eat on Domo. It looked pretty nasty. Now I'm worried I spelled it wrong. [goes to look at the Sevencyclopaedia]. Damn, it's mangon, but that's even better for the story. I'll change that. According to them, it's a stew made from fungus. :-P

I'm glad you liked the story. Apparently there was to be a scene in 'Gambit' where Avon and Vila discover the delights of ice cream on the Rink, hence Avon eating some in the casino and saying he felt ill. That's where the stories come from and ever since I heard that, I wanted to write the missing scene.
