First meme of the year

Oh, all right. Everyone else is.

Which fictional character would you fix me up with, if you could?

Apart from Vila--too obvious even though he's my first choice.

I think you'd look cute with Braca, but I don't think you'd get along with him. I think you'd enjoy a few dates with John Steed, but it'd never be serious.

Actually, I think you'd get along very well with Albert Campion.

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2006-01-01 03:48 am (UTC)(link)
I would! And he wouldn't mind if I had a career (would that I still had) and he already likes red hair.

Steed would be a perfect gentleman who would think up interesting dates and not mind if I used the wrong cutlery.

Braca is cute but he'd be thinking of Scorpy. :-( Besides, I prefer not to date soldiers or police. They often stand you up.

[identity profile] redstarrobot.livejournal.com 2006-01-01 03:51 am (UTC)(link)
Not only would he not mind if you had a career and love the red hair, but he digs the engineering geek chicks, doesn't he?

Steed would be great fun. It'd never be personal, I suspect, but it'd always be worthwhile.

Steed would be a perfect gentleman who would think up interesting dates and not mind if I used the wrong cutlery.

Though he would be too much of a gentleman to show it, I suspect that Steed would be deeplyu distrurbed if you used the wrong cutlery. And eating peas with your knife would be a total no-no. :)

I think that the ideal date for you would probably be Hobbes: an intelligent, cultured, suave feline.

I'm not sure I could handle Calvin though and they do seem to go together.

Nah, give me the Pink Panther.

The Eighth Doctor, because he's fun, and enthusiastic, and encouraging, and he'd take you to see Ancient Rome.

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2006-01-01 03:49 am (UTC)(link)
Ooh! That's a big plus on a date.

[identity profile] astrogirl2.livejournal.com 2006-01-01 03:54 am (UTC)(link)
Hey, hands off! He's mine! :)

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2006-01-01 04:22 am (UTC)(link)
All right, you can have him if you leave Vila to me. :-)

[identity profile] astrogirl2.livejournal.com 2006-01-01 04:32 am (UTC)(link)
Deal!

[identity profile] snowgrouse.livejournal.com 2006-01-01 03:58 am (UTC)(link)
Hm. I'll be adventurous and set you on a blind date with a Tharil. Because you get along with cats. *grin*

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2006-01-01 04:24 am (UTC)(link)
Mmmmm, purrrr, yes. And I always thought humans should be furry.

[identity profile] snowgrouse.livejournal.com 2006-01-01 04:27 am (UTC)(link)
"There's no logical reason why people should be hairy!"

(It had to be said, sorry, couldn't resist:)...)

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2006-01-01 04:28 am (UTC)(link)
There's no logical reason why they shouldn't be either!

Um... Vir?

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2006-01-01 04:23 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, yes! Vir is just adorable and so sweet, and I don't even mean the kitten.

[identity profile] sallymn.livejournal.com 2006-01-01 04:28 am (UTC)(link)
Ummm... unfortunately, the two that came to mind you probably haven't even heard of :)

Somehow, Han Solo also comes to mind, but he's taken...

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2006-01-01 04:30 am (UTC)(link)
Most of them are. But Han Solo charmed me long ago, so excellent choice!

Who were the other two, just in case I have heard of them?

[identity profile] sallymn.livejournal.com 2006-01-01 05:03 am (UTC)(link)
Ezra Standish from Magnificent 7 (cute, devious, charming, and has a bit of the same attitude to the law as Vila) and Christian from Inspector Rex (cute, a tad stuffier, keeps getting outwitted by the cleverest dog in Austria, but adorable anyway).

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2006-01-01 05:05 am (UTC)(link)
They do sound very tempting...

[identity profile] mistraltoes.livejournal.com 2006-01-01 04:47 am (UTC)(link)
Ooh. Daniel Jackson for you, I think. Extremely cute, geeky, interested in languages and cultures. Calm, rational, caring. And you'd look good together.

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2006-01-01 05:00 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, yes, excellent choice! Lots to talk about over dinner, or more likely, a dusty old book and a strange artefact. :-D

[identity profile] sallymn.livejournal.com 2006-01-01 06:04 am (UTC)(link)
That is, if you can ignore the competition - from what I've seen, he attracts attention from all the wrong sort of women and they tend to end up dead.

Tiny drawback, methinks..?

[identity profile] entropy-house.livejournal.com 2006-01-01 05:25 am (UTC)(link)
Tarzan might be fun for an outing among the animals- can't see any long-term relationship, though.

How about Dr. Watson? Cuddly and willing to go along with any adventure you have in mind, and brings along a medical kit in case of accidents?

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2006-01-01 05:41 am (UTC)(link)
Ummm... can't see that one. He's lovely but too, I dunno, avuncular.

[identity profile] entropy-house.livejournal.com 2006-01-01 05:49 am (UTC)(link)
True. I really thought of the Stainless Steel Rat, Jim DiGriz, future thief extraordinare, but he's married, and his wife is very good at killing people.

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2006-01-01 06:17 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, yes, I wouldn't last long. Angelica or something like that?

[identity profile] entropy-house.livejournal.com 2006-01-01 06:34 am (UTC)(link)
That sounds familiar... or maybe Angelique? Yes, she had serious psychological issues. :^) Besides, keeping up with him on one of his adventures would be *exhausting*. Profitable, but exhausting.

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2006-01-01 05:42 am (UTC)(link)
And I'm not sure Tarzan would be a very good conversationalist. Besides, I'm a bit nervous of heights.

[identity profile] entropy-house.livejournal.com 2006-01-01 05:51 am (UTC)(link)
In the books he spoke fluent English, French, several African languages, and I'm pretty sure he learned Arabic and maybe German, too.

And it would be cool to ride around with him on Tantor the elephant. Good for a fun date, I'd think, although probably there would be no real sparks.
kerravonsen: (imagination-fly)

[personal profile] kerravonsen 2006-01-01 05:56 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, he was a lot more intelligent in the books.

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2006-01-01 06:16 am (UTC)(link)
That sounds much more promising! I doubt I'd be fit enough to please him though, unless I met him in his Lord Greystoke persona.

[identity profile] entropy-house.livejournal.com 2006-01-01 06:22 am (UTC)(link)
I don't think he judges people by physical appearance or athletic prowess- after all he thought his mother was a great ape. :^) You and Lord Greystoke might have some things in common, he loved animals and having his freedom -and him being generous and wealthy (sole heir to the family fortune, plus owning a nice piece of African plantation IIRC) and dedicated to his girlfriend's happiness is never a bad thing in a boyfriend.)

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2006-01-01 06:24 am (UTC)(link)
And he probably knows lots of big cats. All right, you've convinced me. Set me up!

[identity profile] entropy-house.livejournal.com 2006-01-01 06:28 am (UTC)(link)
All right! He's on your doorstep, wearing a neat khaki safari outfit, with a baby leopard in one hand and a bouquet of rare orchids in the other.

Have fun!

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2006-01-01 07:02 am (UTC)(link)
Ooh!
