It refers to the colour as well as the stone.

It was the colour I meant; I think of turquoise as being a much greener blue than that (and my niece used to use it to describe what I'd call a bluish green).

It's pretty much the colour in your icon, and the colour of turquoise jewellery I have. I've discovered that people perceive levels of blue and green differently; there are shades some will call green and others blue.

There were some cat statues on the search page which weren't blue/green at all.
