vilakins: Vila with stars superimposed (B7 pusher)

What shall I write -- vote!

The Finish-a-thon voting polls are up here. Because I doubt that many participants know Blake's 7, I want anyone interested to vote for mine. So if you'd like me to write one of the following stories, go to the post and vote (scroll down to find my poll). You can vote for other authors' stories there too unless they specified participants only.

  1. Lightning Bolt
An AU where Vila finds out what Avon and Tarrant said about him while he was on Kezarn and Homeworld, and decides to leave the Liberator. The story follows what he does and how his absence affects the others for the rest of season 3. Along the way, Vila encounters Soolin--and Dorian; this is as close as I'll get to writing horror.

  2. The Definition of Animals
This is the episode Animals as I think it should have been: Og as an alien scientist who once tutored Dayna and Lauren, and Justin as the leader of the pack of humans he's experimenting on. I don't follow the episode (mainly because I fast-forwarded though quite a lot of it) so don't think you know the plot. The main characters are Dayna and Og.

  3. Lynx
(AKA The Big PGP) part 2. I've written part 1 but I'm still only half-way though part 2 and they need to be posted together, though following parts will be fairly standalone. It's a PGP in which the surviving crew are rescued from Gauda Prime by the mysterious Lynx (don't worry; no Mary Sues here; all is revealed in part 2). Carnell also appears.

  4. The Late Unlamented Vila Restal
My answer to the B7 sequel killing them all off except possibly for Avon. Vila is officially dead, but is rescued by a farming family on Gauda Prime; there's a snippet here. At one point he and the farmer watch viscasts from the non-Federated worlds media about the dead rebels.

    Rating: PG

  5. Legacy
Vila is in a cell on Gauda Prime and not going anywhere--he thinks. He's ill, weak, and feverish, he has no tools to pick the lock and no will to do so anyway because he's given up on life as just being not worth the effort. Then Cally appears and he discovers something surprising about himself, though the rest of the crew are uncertain how to react.
    Type: gen
    Rating: PG

  6. Silent and Alone
Vila is so traumatised by Gauda Prime, he withdraws and refuses to speak. All efforts to get through to him fail, and finally Avon takes Vila to Kaarn in the hopes that Dr Franton might be able to help him. When they get there, they find someone unexpected.
    Type: gen
    Rating: PG

  7. The Hand of Friendship
When Blake's base is retaken by rebels, Jenna and Blake are appalled to find that Vila was tortured for the location of Orac: he's had every bone in his hands broken. To the rebels, a thief and a Delta at that doesn't rate the intensive therapy required to enable the damaged nerves to regenerate, but then someone volunteers: Avon. Vila objects bitterly but has little choice: this story details the difficult rebuilding of their friendship.

Y'know, the voting was kind of fun all in and of itself. :)

It was! I really want to read a lot of those stories.

[identity profile] astrogirl2.livejournal.com 2005-11-26 06:22 am (UTC)(link)
So do I! For a lot of them, I really wish I could have voted for more than one.

Me too. I dithered over some.

Oh yes, but I'm getting all excited looking at the polls, because for the ones I dithered over, I can be happy that I don't mind if the one I voted for doesn't win, because a story I also liked might end up getting written.

It's interesting looking at the trends -- for some people, there's one clear favourite, while for other people, it's like one vote for every single idea.

And I certainly don't mind which story of mine wins, because I'd like to write *all* of them, if only I could find the time, and this is a way of finding the time -- which is of course why I started this ficathon thing in the first place.

I didn't know you wrote the HL/B7 crossover "Winning Is the Only Safety". Years ago, I read that in Southern Seven and enjoyed the heck out of it. Following the links back to your website, I just re-read that story and enjoyed it as much as ever. I'll read the posted sequel tomorrow.

Thank you!
Ah, I see you've voted for the sequel already. 8-)

Yes, that's exactly how I feel. :-)

You evil bitch!:) You will have to come and write my Vila dialogue if you want me to write the Vila-Chiana thing, damn it!:)

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2005-11-26 07:08 am (UTC)(link)
I'm not the only one who does! But sure, I'll beta it and make suggestion that are more Vilaesque. :-)

[identity profile] snowgrouse.livejournal.com 2005-11-26 07:09 am (UTC)(link)
*FLAILS* but I wanna write the Castrovalva AU! *flails some more*

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2005-11-26 07:11 am (UTC)(link)
So write that anyway. :-D

[identity profile] astrogirl2.livejournal.com 2005-11-26 07:20 am (UTC)(link)
Seconded. :)

[identity profile] hafren.livejournal.com 2005-11-26 07:53 am (UTC)(link)
I was awfully torn between 6 and 7 - I think you should do both!

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2005-11-26 09:29 am (UTC)(link)
I will, one day. I want to write all of those stories.
