Following the tragic news of David's death in July, fans and cast members have generously donated money to charity in David's memory and I thought you'd all like to know that so far we have collected just over £500 which will shortly be sent to the Actors Benevolent Fund at the request of David's wife, Anne.

Several of the cast have already made generous donations, but I'd particularly like to mention Michael Keating who donated his entire proceeds from his photo sales at the recent Cult TV convention.

Awww, isn't he a sweetie? MK really is the loveliest man. I must record some Eastenders eps to fast-forward through as I've heard there are weddings and funerals coming up down here and I'd like to see him doing his Reverend Stevens act.

When I first saw Vila, as a little girl of 7, I thought he was a lovely man. Over the years, many actors I liked then have disappointed me by turning out to be selfish, egotistical, stupid or arrogant. Whenever I see interviews with Michael Keating or hear anything about him, I just keep finding out more and more about how lovely he is. The same is true of the other Blake's 7 actors.

One thing that impressed me a lot about Michael Keating is the convention where he unavoidably arrived much later than had been planned for. Instead of cutting down his obligations, he managed to squeeze everything in by giving up non-essentials like sleep. He's a generous man and I hope he realises how many people love him for it.

Which one was that? The first one he went to after a long time away was Star One last year. I went all the way to the UK to see him because I thought it might be my only chance (but he's been to other cons since) and was lucky enough to have coffee and dinner with him--with nine others of course. And you know, if he had been one of those egotistical actors, I'd love Vila regardless because actors and characters are different people, but Michael Keating is such a nice person that I wonder whether some of that came through in Vila to make us love him so.
