Finish-a-thon!

This is a really good idea--the finish-a-thon. To quote kerravonsen, who thought it up:

Remember all those poor, neglected plot bunnies that have been starving from lack of attention, because all those ficathons kept on having higher priority? The stories you wish you could finish, if only you could find the time? Well, fear not, the finish-a-thon is coming to the rescue!

The finish-a-thon is a ficathon, with all the ficathon-like things like deadlines and fellow volunteers to encourage you, but with this ficathon, you write your own ideas. But since part of the encouragement of a ficathon is writing things for other people, what we're going to do, is vote for which story ideas people should write.

So dust off those neglected story ideas and sign up.

It sounds like a wonderful idea, and I'd seriously consider doing it if I weren't blasting away on the NaNiWriMo thing right now. Same idea though: deadline to get your ideas actually written. I'll just have to look forward to reading all the cool fics that will be generated.

The dates are designed not to conflict with NaNoWriMo; check it out! :-) All you have to do this month is sign up with a list of 3 to 10 story ideas to be voted on later.

D'oh. My clever excuse has been seen through. Actually, I have so many billions of writing tasks on my plate, that there's no hope of a ficathon for me right now. But I will enjoy reading and be back to my huge, unfinished B7 fic one of these days. Really.
