GIP and an honest politician

[livejournal.com profile] reapermum already posted about one of our politicians promising to run naked though the streets of Newmarket if a rival won the seat. He lost--and he did. With Rodney Hide now the Ruler of Epsom as a friend put it, Green Party MP Keith Locke strolled down Broadway in a G-string, shoes and socks, and .... well, have a look. His is the first election promise to be kept. :-D

And I had to show you this Hello Cthulhu icon, found on one of my communities, just because it's so damned cute.
Hello Cthulhu

In other news, I'm shattered after four days with my friend and her two kids, one of which, I'm sure, has ADD. She caused chaos wherever we went and screamed and kicked in the car all the way back from the North Shore yesterday. It was lovely to see them but I want to curl up in a chair with a book for a few days now.

...I think if re re-runs, he'll get elected!

Stylish.

Very! Actually the guy who got in is a character too, even though I don't like his politics.

Points for style for him too, though?

Oh dear, it looks like you need a lot of R & R after The Kids(TM) - maybe a casual hint to your friend about 'how great those current TV programs about managing your kids are' might help...

Yes, Keith Locke kept his promise...in a way, heh. I heard there was a complaint that he should have been really naked but I don't think we needed to see that!

[Love the Hello Cthulhu pic]

It's the younger one's personality; the older one was very well-behaved. They're both very intelligent too and a lot of fun but the fights and tantrums were wearing thin after three days.

Yeah, less is more with skin as far as I'm concerned.

Isn't it disturbingly adorable?

I dunno, he looked pretty good for 61. And skin is just skin. I draw it naked every week, I can handle it walking down the street. :)

His opponent seemed like a really sore winner from that article. At least Locke had a sense of humor. :)

He looks amazing for 61. I dunno though, skin is fine on the beach but I don't like to see more than limbs bare in the street or the office. [shrug] The body paint was very cool though.

Yeah, Hide didn't come across at all well there; he can do a lot better than that. I wish Locke had got in as he has character and politics I like.

Hope you get a good rest now. And the drive and taps are done, which are the sort of things that cheer me up for days. With luck, the younger child will calm down a bit as she grows up.

This is the second time I've met her and she hasn't so far.

Yes, the drive and taps are done and the house is looking a lot better than it has for months so it was good that we were galvanised to get it in order. Next I want to clear out a lot more of the clutter (most of it in cupboards or Greg's computer room) and give unwanted clothes etc away to charity shops, and also get the trees topped again so we get our view back. Then I might feel I'm a bit more in control of things; it got a bit chaotic there.

Hehe, a politician keeping his promise? What is the world coming to? ;0)

[identity profile] vilakins.livejournal.com 2005-09-27 07:55 am (UTC)(link)
Even though he didn't win an electorate, he's still in parliament as a list MP (the ones who make up the party ratios so they match the party votes cast). So go him!

At least we know one politician with some integrity!

Sorry you had such an exhausting time with the visitors - I'll try to send some calming vibes :)

Thanks! I think they worked! A day back at work doing routine stuff and an evening watching recorded eps of Hustle has got me pretty much back to normal. :-)

Yay!

I enjoyed last night's Hustle - I'm finally getting to the point where I can figure out what's going on before the end!

I haven't caught up with that one yet. I can guess some of the plot twists but I like being surprised.
