Slip the surly bonds of earth
I took my friend Nancie to the market today (the only kind of shopping I like) and I bought a leather flat cap (I love flat caps and my sister borrowed my last one and lost it at a rock concert) -- and a pilot's hat! Soft leather lined with sheepskin! I've always wanted one and as soon as I put it on, Nancie said, "It's you! It matches your personality." And when I got it home and showed Greg, he totally agreed. Best buy in ages. :-D
Just need a flight jacket to go with it.

And I love that poem, too. "...the tumbling mirth/Of sun-split clouds..."

There was a gorgeous pilot's hat in the antiques shop downstairs but IT DIDN'T FIT ME. Neither did the flat cap next to it and I nearly cried. Perhaps having a big head prevents me from doing stupid impulse shopping, hm...:P

If we go to Germany this year (and it looks like next month and again before Christmas) then I'm taking it in case it's really cold. I can wear it round the Christkindmaerkte! [bounce]

They called me Spitfire at primary school because of my favourite one, and it was years before I found out there was another meaning.
