Crickety goodness and other stuff

Good: I've finished my Labor Day story, such as it is. Now I have to polish the thing or at least take some of the dents out.

Bad: I ordered my copy of The Democratic Genre: Fan Fiction in a Literary Context ages ago and not only hasn't it come yet, I just got told by Amazon that it's out of stock and it'll be another couple of months. [sulks]

Excellent: These crack cricket test matches run by [livejournal.com profile] vaznetti and someone else using characters in people's results in the icon pairing memes. I so want to see this: Julius Caesar as a spin-bowler (so a toga counts as cricket whites?) and Pilot as a wicket-keeper (all those arms!)

I haven't even placed an order for the book yet, sigh. Damn it, there is a market for this stuff, Amazon!

Lovely Tufty icon. Bwha!

Thanks!

Maybe the publisher didn't send them enough, or they didn't realise how much demand there'd be. Sigh.

Well, rats. I haven't ordered my copy yet, either.

Yay for Labor Day writing! See, I knew you'd manage something!

You may get luck with the book order. They told me when I ordered it, like, a week ago that it might be as long as six weeks, and then I got a note a couple of days ago saying they'd sent it.

Here's hoping then.

May I send my story to you tonight for beta-reading? [looks appealing, or tries to]

Sure. If you get it to me in the next three hours, I can take it to work with me.

OK, I have a copy here at work. Right, I'll do that. :-)
