Questions: 18-20 August

Once again I'm a bit late, due to all the lockdown kerfuffle - extended for another few days, and Greg's work next week cancelled. The roads are quiet and empty, and the supermarkets don't even have queues, unlike last time. People seem to be behaving very well, at least here in town.

18. What’s the most you’ll pay for a pair of shoes?
$120? And they'd be good-quality comfortable ones I can go walking in and use for years.

19. Which flower is your favourite?
Favourites are always hard for me. I'm very fond of pohutukawa, hibiscus, and magnolia.

20. Which season do you think is the prettiest?
When I lived in Auckland I'd have picked spring because of the fruit blossom. Down here though, where settlers planted a lot of European deciduous trees, autumn is just spectacular up the valley with the golden poplars and willows and the occasional bright-red oak. The contrast with the blue lakes is stunning.

Benmore hydro dam - the trees in the distance are poplars

That's a lovely photo. Autumn is beautiful in the South Island.

I like shoes to be comfy before they're stylish. Roses are my favourite. :)
