13. Do you like it when friends stop by unexpectedly?
No. Firstly, introvert. Secondly, I'm often just not ready for company. Greg has a tendency to hoarding and a lack of the aesthetic sense that might drive him to be tidier. And there was that time when I was still in pyjamas. :-(

14. How long have you lived in your current home?
Five years last month. It's old (for here: 1928) and needs a lot of work which still hasn't all been done due to a lack of tradespeople in this town. It's what they call a character house, but then most houses here are. I'd love to live in something newer and more comfortable, but I do like the location and the views: sea, Oamaru Gardens, and mountains.

15. If you apply makeup, do you do it in a specific order?
I do wear some, mainly because of light eyelashes, hooded eyes, and pale lips. Why not if it makes you feel better about yourself? Nowadays some guys wear it too.
In case anyone happens to be interested (such a weird question!):
- a little kohl pencil in the corners of my eyes
- mascara
- some shadow (goodbye, hoods!)
- natural-coloured lip liner
- (sometimes) pinkish/brownish lippy, or just some lip balm
All of this takes about 2 minutes tops.

I don't like people who just drop in either. At least call or text before you show up, to let me get dressed and/or put the worst of the clutter away. I do enjoy being with others, although I'm also an introvert, but only when it's planned and I'm ready for the encounter.

If you have a view of the sea AND the mountains from your home, you shouldn't move. Can you show us a pic of your views?

Why would anyone be interested in someone else's make up routine? Weird question!

Exactly! I couldn't cope with always being ready for possible casual visitors.

And to the west, the mountains - you can just see the snow to the right of the window. Hills and trees hide them somewhat from here.

So weird! There are more personal grooming questions to come, too. I don't see why they'd be of interest to anyone, but I'll answer them for completeness.

What great views! I love both directions. No wonder you cat enjoys sitting in the window, looking out. How far is it to the sea and the mountains?

Isn't the point of grooming that people DON'T see what is underneath? Why would I (or you) want to spill the beans about how much work there is to look presentable, lol!

I like sitting in that room and looking out too. The upstairs sunroom is a major reason we bought this house. It's about 1.5kms to the sea, and about 50kms to the mountains, which are the Kakanuis, foothills of the Southern Alps.

Eh, it's not much work as I have the routine down pat, but it's such an odd question. There are two similar ones to come, and I can't imagine people being interested in my replies.

You have lovely country views too! Ashley's the one who spends hours staring out windows, but I have no idea what fascinates her so much.

I really dislike unexpected visitors, family is okay but with anyone else it feels like they are intruding on my privacy and I'm simply not prepared to face them. I'm a slightly extrovert introvert usually.

I suppose I could make sure everything's tidy (not easy with three cats and a Greg) and be prepared to stop what I'm doing at the drop of a hat, but... it's just not at all likely. I do enjoy company, but on my terms. For example, I love games evenings, but I'm ready and looking forward to that.

As an introvert, I don't like unexpected guests either. If I'm wearing geeky t-shirts at the time, I wouldn't be apologising for it. :-p

I apply skincare stuffs every day (thanks problem skin) which takes a couple of minutes. Putting on makeup if going out takes an extra five minutes.

Why would anyone apologise for geeky t-shirts?

That's a pretty quick routine too! If I'm going out for a whole day or to a concert, I'll take a little more time on the makeup.
