As I now know there are at least a couple more lurkers like me around, I feel as if I should post more instead of mainly reading and commenting because there are more people here than I thought.

I might have done this meme once, but I thought I'd have another look, and the first sort by hits was very surprising. So here goes (though I'm not in the league of astrogirl and thisbluespirit because small fandoms and gen).

It's A Surfeit of Tarrants that I'm totally puzzled by. Tarrant fans reccing it to each other perhaps? Very odd.
Electrical Contact amuses me as it was inspired by this Dorktower comic, though I didn't set it in WW1. Ha, challenge accepted!
Three are yuletide pinch hits or treats so I suppose that brings more reader to my yard.

I really wish I could figure out where the traffic to some of mine comes from, too. Often I figure a story must have gotten a rec somewhere for anybody to be interested in it, especially when there's a bit of activity on it all at once, but I almost never can figure out where.

I write, but I don't write all that much fandom. However the exceptions would be; A Soul of Old Steel (a star trek/Azur lane crossover) and Hulk HUG! which gets a surprising amount of traffic for a short silly bit.

My usual line of writing is more like The Exeter Incident which is currently on hiatus until I think of a better ending.

Ooh, a dirigible navy; that looks interesting and reminds me a bit of the film 'Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow' which has Angelina Jolie in it... as Commander Francesca "Franky" Cook. Is it based on that?

A note on spacing: generally in web fic there's a blank line between different people talking - it makes it easier to read.

Inspired by, but not a directly based upon. It's set in Ysabetwordsmith polychrome heroics universe. and yeah I know about that convention now. My later stuff reflects that, I just haven't had the time to go back though my older stuff and rework it.

I loved the Franky character in that film; there should have been more of her. I shall imagine your Franky as being very like her.

I'm laughing a lot at the idea that I don't write small fandoms and gen! But, yeah, I seem to have hit on the odd niche pairing (mild as my shippiness is) and Yuletide, as you say, makes a big difference. (I trail quite a bit behind the marvellous astrogirl, though!)

B7 may not be huge, but the fandom always seems comparatively chatty. My B7 fic rarely makes it to the top tens, but it always gets a nice lot of comments, which is far more satisfactory, as far as I'm concerned.

I'm very amused that too many Tarrants is so popular, though! Maybe the Tarrant fans are starved/very dedicated? Or, of course, it's just that good.

Oh, other Customs may not be tagged for it, but you posted it to a biggish comm a few years back and it featured Blake, Avon and Only One Bed and Fake Relationship, I don't think there's a mystery there!

You're right; your non-B7 fandoms are quirky too; it must be Yuletide. I've only ever done pinch hits for that.

Yes, I was thinking that about the Tarrant fans, though they didn't go for his Diary of a Space Captain, not sure why that night be. ;-)

I assumed Other Customs was from a trope bingo card. [checks] Yep, trope bingo in 2017. It is tagged with the comm and round 6, but there'd be others which didn't get the hits. It has to be the subject!

I'm scratching my head and wondering if this post is actually in code and might mean something entirely different if you knew how to decode it? I understood the idea of lurking rather than posting (unless that itself is code for something else), but beyond that I don't have a clue.

Lurkers are people who don't post but read others' posts, which I've pretty much been for a while. My lockdown meme post turned up some people who've obviously been doing the same which encourages me to think I might have more readers than I thought.
