Book about fan fiction

For those of you who mightn't know, there's a book about fan fiction coming out soon at amazon.co.uk which is already available for pre-order. It's
The Democratic Genre: Fan Fiction in a Literary Context by poet and novelist Sheenagh Pugh. Among the fandoms covered, with the co-operation of many fanfic writers, are: The Bill, Blake's 7, Tolkien, Jane Austen, and Hornblower. The author has put up a description and an excerpt here.

Also, for those of you in the UK, Sheenagh Pugh will be on BBC Breakfast talking about the book on Monday 1 August, some time between 8:40 and 9:10am, and viewers may be able to e-mail or text responses in to the programme.

Damn, that looks facinating. There's that book with essays about farscape coming out soon, too. "Sex, Violence, and Killer Muppets" or something.
